    BoxRec Lately?

I know its passe to badmouth Boxrec, but it is a good site to get specific factual information about fights and fighters, and links to various other bits of info.

That being written, am I the only one getting annoyed by its overwhelming amount of ads lately? Two simultaneous ads constantly roll up from the bottom of the screen, taking up the bottom third, with the outer borders squeezing in for some reason.

Not to sound like a grumpy old man, but get these things off my lawn. Or is it just me?

    - - Boxrec had to and still has to pay large sums just to establish the most comprehensive boxing database in the world. Could be at some point they go subscription.

They could fleece the promoters and active mangers only, by putting under subscription active fighters. Leave the retired fighters' information and news articles free.

But true they need financing and they need to make sure they function in the light.

League-less boxing needs a bible. It looks like they are our best bet.

I can't stand their rating system. It's wonky. Billy Miske #11 all time heavyweight, Tyson #34? I use boxrec to research fighter records and cross reference but that's about it.

You know me. I try never to look at lists. Especially lists that cross epochs.

P.S. I like Billy, never gets credit for his iron jaw. At the same level as Cuvallo's.

Is it really that expensive to collect data on dead boxers? Is there any reason it should be?

Before tonight's fight between Joshua and Dubois, Joshua is boxrec's #1 heavyweight, and Usyk #2.
Computers can never be wrong. Though I wonder how many times Usyk must whip Joshua before boxrec accepts it.

That's seriously warped. I have no idea of the program or formula they're running, but they need a new one.
