              Here is Usyk's professional record.

One will notice he did not even fight a heavyweight until 2019, that would be 5 years ago... and his first few heavyweight fights were hardly dominant. He beat Witherspoon, unsensationally and almost lost to Chisora, something HE acknowledges!!!

He then beat Joshua in a trilogy, won a contraversal decision against Dubois, and won a close fight with Fury. Usyk as of yet is not even a dominant heavyweight, much less a dominant force in the division for twelve years.

Come on Bill . . . Waiting out the effect of a low blow isn't controversial. He dominated Dubois; made him quit.

                Only a rematch with AJ.

Usyk may have just been a gentleman regarding Chisora. Chisora's own Wikipedia page even states he couldn't match Usyk's pacing and wasn't competitive at the end.

I see some domination of HWs. Of course not his whole career, as it is being suggested; but certainly enough to warrant a title shot.

IMHO he did earn his title shot at Fury the hard way.

He climbed his way up against a reasonable ladder of fighters; gave a rematch when it was appropriate; and stepped up to beat Fury.

P.S. You know I am an anti-punch count/no decision guy. But I have no problem seeing Usyk as the better man that night. He beat Fury. That's the kind of dominant decision I can respect.

                Belaboring my point:

Ali-Frazier I . . . To me that was a two round victory for Frazier. What Angelo Dundee called the "terrible 11th" and the KD in the 15th.

Had those two rounds not occurred, and just looked like the other 13 rounds, I would have called that fight a "do over." The decision would have been a plethora of meaningless 10-9 scores.

But, no, that decision I respected. I saw a better man that night in Frazier.

I respected the Usyk-Fury decision as well. It was Usyk's night, not Fury's.

                  - - Usyk earned an Olympic Gold Medal in the traditional weight class, heavyweight that Joe Frazier and George Foreman fought in.

And turned pro at a fight weight that greatly exceeds most all Heavy Champs in existence, and been whoopin'em nonstop ever since. Maybe they, you know, the El Puerco Son of Jose will create a Pink Light in the Loafers for your U Heavy Zeroes...

                    Olympic Gold Medal Wow!!!

Exceeds? In other words: "Because my ridiculous argument depends on fluff, like including olympic performance, and needing something to create more opponents, I will come up with the silly idea that Usyk fought in a division with more talent!" Then I can say: "See if we say this division is better, and dilute professional with amateur fights, I can be right!"

Yeah whoopin them for a few years non stop! Not twelve years...

I have no bone to pick about Usyk's talents. As a matter of fact, my posting on the Chisora fight was very sympathetic to Usyk. I felt/feel like he tried to change aspects of his approach, including moving in longer lines, less angles, being more careful, etc... I felt that he took this to heart and fought his natural way subsequently.

Again, Usyk checks all the boxes and has every right to be seen as dominant, if he can beat Fury in the rematch. He certainly won the first fight, even if it was close. If he does beat Fury then he is present top dog.
