Pep, I don't disagree with your answers. The facts are those fights weren't made. But the window of opportunity to make those fights was far less than Wills Dempsey......outside of Johnson of course.

You claim Kearns was ducking Rickard and that's why this fight couldn't happen.

Kearns was Dempsey's manager in 1923 when he fought Firpo, wasn't he? And the promoter was Rickard, wasn't it?

Your excuse goes out the window if that's true. Can you confirm?
      - - Kearns ducked Rickard when Dempsey fought Gibbons in Shelby Montana that bankrupted the town...DUH ad infinitum...

Firpo was the last fight Dempsey had with Kearns who sued for financial liens put on Dempsey that forever hampered his career and the Wills fight.

U still bawlin' about Frazee stupendous $$$ guarantee in 1920 RedSox Stadium that he owned and 1921 Yankee Stadium's first year that the Politicos shot down, not because Dempsey and Kearns refused to fight Wills.

I think Tunney would out box Wills. As I said later in Wills career, Tunney offered Wills a fight.

I have said this before. You just don't listen too well. Blame your age if you must. Read and hear me again. You just might remember for a while.

Based on the opponents beaten with attention given to ages and condition of the opponents, I give a slight edge to Tunney over Wills. And based on the losses and draws which are part of a resume it is Tunney had far fewer of them too.

Tunney is 10-1 over his Hall of fam opponents is he not?

He said Kearns didn't want to work with Rickard anymore and that's what stalled the fight.

          [ /QUOTE]

          - - Dempsey was fed up with Kearns who tried to kill his marriage and quit him to go to Hollywood.

When U gonna grow up? Frazee was the only solid Big Purse fight that could be made with a 1920 and 1921 offer that the Politicos killed.

That made subsequent Wills/Dempsey fights impossible as to not only the financing of such a big fight, but the Venue and Political hurdles, political hurdles being the biggest from early inception of Boxing history up until Boxing was made legal during the early 1900s.

Why did Dempsey duck the Montreal fight? or the Chicago fight. Politicos didn't kill either of those.

I'll await your answer that I know won't come.

I have a quotation from a NY Commissioner who says otherwise. Tell him that politicos stopped this fight.

Dempsey was very willing to sit this fight out. He knows Wills was his #1 contender for years and even claimed he was the only man he wanted to fight since he became champion. He ducked him plain and simple.
