Show me a link where Byrd wanted or offered a re-match with Vitali? He was a Don King fighter, and he WOULD never risk a fight with Klitschko. Instead we saw Byrd vs Kings signed men, Holyfield, Ruiz, and Rhaman.

Lewis ducked out of the re-match while trying to make fights with Roy Jones and Kirk Johnson! After Klitschko vs. Lewis, Vitali crushed Johnson in two rounds! Roy Jones passed on the fight and the WBC ordered a re-match. So neither the Johnson or Jones fight could be made. Lewis has one belt left and the rematch was ordered. Lewis did not honor the re-match he said he would give. The money was offered to Lewis. If you say the challenger seeks the re-match, you pianted yourself into a corner.

These are Vitali's only losses. A fight where an Injury is to blame for a defeat and a cut. He was winning both fights.


Although I agree on drafting OL which has been very good during Dak tenure to replace Tackles, I think the problem is Dak, who has a top 5 WR and a very good TE who is a rising star.

I'd favor Vitali over many of the greatest heavyweights we have ever witnessed in a H2H matchup, and it's mostly based on what I've seen from him against average competition but also we got a glimpse of him against a truly high ranked ATG HW who was still close to the peak of his powers, and I liked what I saw. Very much.

I don't think much can be held against him for losing to a HW as good as Lennox Lewis at all, especially considering the circumstances of that fight. But ironically that loss probably did more for his legacy than any other fight. In fact I'm not sure a fighter gained more from a loss than Vitali did against Lewis.

Giants should go QB. Jones is injury prone now, has no protection and gets hit too much. I heard on the radio, they'll also go WR and RB as well.
