Light in the Loafers Lewie perfect for U boxing heroes.
Evidence for your claim that he was just a day or two from being stripped?

But using your thinking ( Vitali sure as heck tried to rematch Lewis. Lewis tried to make matches vs. Jones and Johnson, ( Jones did not want to get badly KO'd and passed, Vitali KO'd Johnson ) then quickly retired when WBC ordered the re-match! Vitali tired to get the re-match. He chased Lewis into retirement.

Show me a link where Byrd wanted or offered a re-match with Vitali? He was a Don King fighter, and he WOULD never risk a fight with Klitschko. Instead we saw Byrd vs Kings signed men, Holyfield, Ruiz, and Rhaman.

We both know you won't / can't and so ends this debate.
Show us a link which states Vitali wanted /actively pursued a rematch with Byrd?
      After his surgery Vitali fought.
      Hoffman
      Norris
      Puritty
      Bean
      Donald
      In that order.
NONE of them were Ring ranked.
That's a strange way of trying to force /create a demand for a rematch!

Exactly. Vits very seldom took chances and his career was well orchestrated (in my opinion) to avoid the best fighters of his era, which was very weak to begin with.

Two things wrong here. You say Lewis wanted to fight Johnson and Jones after the Vits fight, before he retired. The Jones fight had been proposed and Lennox said during his training camp for Johnson he either wanted Jones or Vits afterwards and would retire. He got Vits, won and retired. The other thing.....if he had wanted to fight Johnson, wouldn't Johnson have taken that fight instead of Vits? It would have been for the heavyweight championship of the world. No reason to fight Vits if offered a Lewis fight again. But what does any of this have to do with Vits never seeking a rematch after losing to Byrd?

Hoffman was big and undefeated, Norris a former cruiserweight champ and ring marine ranked at that weight, Puritty was a good journeyman who was very durable, Bean a former title contender who took Holyfield the distance in a title fight, and Donald a former title contender who took Bowe the distance. All of whom were stopped by Vitali except for Hoffman which was his first fight back from surgery.

Who invited you into this conversation?

NONE OF THEM WERE RING RANKED

Hoffman never beat anyone worth talking about.
Norris fought Vitali inJan 2001, he hadnt been ranked as a cruiser since1994!

Puritty's previous fight was a draw with Sedreck Fields, and he had won just 1 of his last 4 fights, against

the famous Ronnie Smith who sported a record of 4-20-0!
              Donald?
Here is a report of his Bowe "fight"lol

"Rid**** Bowe was forced to chase Larry Donald through 12 rounds Saturday night in a fight that left him frustrated but the winner for the first time since losing his heavyweight titles 13 months ago.

Bowe overcame Donald's efforts to move and fight in flurries by wearing him down to take a lopsided and unanimous decision in his bid to return to the top of the heavyweight ranks.

The former champion, who marked Donald's face and nearly put him down in the final round, won all 12 rounds on one ringside scorecard in handing the 1992 Olympian his first defeat in 17 professional fights.

Donald fought much in the style of his hero, Muhammad Ali, but didn't throw enough punches nor land any hard ones in a fight he seemed more happy to survive than win.

Donald bounced on the balls of his feet almost the entire fight, throwing punches only in short flurries before either moving out of range again or tying Bowe up on the inside.

"Come one, come on," Bowe implored Donald throughout the fight."

I don't need an invite to participate in a debate on an open forum.

You're just annoyed I pointed out Vitali,[ as he was inclined to do,]cherry picked his next 4 opponents after Byrd, and made no effort to rematch him!

Getting your brother to fight men who have beaten you ie Byrd,Sanders,Purrity is rather different to avenging your own losses, as for example Lewis did.

Can you not get someone your end to explain that to you?

If Wlad made Byrd irrelevant than Byrd must have made Vits irrelevant since they were so closely ranked for several years with Vits never trying to rematch.
