    I support it.

Get the hell out of corrupt ass Las Vegas.

Maybe the Saudis can controvert a lot of the corruption of the promoters & sanctioning bodies.

Also, maybe they can get boxing back on TV at a decent time.

I wish I could watch boxing at 4PM like used to be normal 30 years ago.

guess those big boy pants have not arrived yet... The Klits presided over such a weak division... and the brilliant strategy employed of holding the opponent... Weak weak weak.,, America has lots of problems, especially Texas, but we have better human rights than the Saudis you stinker you!

Exactly. I wonder if they would give a few Dinar for Queen B, since he thinks their human rights are so sublime... Or would it be "Ransom and Red Cheek" "We take this idiot but you pay us! If Queen B ran over to North Korea, they would shoot him back over in a canon.

The audience vibe isn't the same thats for sure. I think a lot of times the big fights in Vegas even seem toned down since its about being seen for a lot of ppl at those events. But these Saudi/Dubai fights got that Japan in the Tyson vs Douglas days vibe where ppl are damn near in a coma ringside & ppl don't really know wtf they are seeing or don't really gaf.

I wondered how people in the usa feel. What is the time in america when it is 10pm in saudi arabia?
The americans have dominated the agenda for ever and a day and i was used to staying up all night watching it and I would delight in the moment of the night where history was been written for everyone to talk about for years to come.
Now the fight starts about 10pm in the uk, perfect for a great evenings entertainment without getting into peoples sleeping routine. I think that roughly 9pm in saudi arabia is around 1pm in the usa as they are around 8-10 hours behind. I can't imagine as many people in the usa would be tuning into the ppv as they always would in iron mikes era.
I remember in 2002 the soccer world cup was held in south korea and the time difference meant that matches were played at 6am in the morning as pubs were allowed, just for this event, to serve beer and loads of people went to the pub to soak in the atmosphere and it was so surreal to see everyone pissed up at this time in the morning it has never happened since.
It was part of my life as a solid boxing fan to stay up on my sofa with all my snacks and drinks and get into the atmosphere through the tele.
Do you yanks here think that fury vs usyk will sell huge amounts of ppv's or will americans ignore this fight as it is around 1pm on a saturday afternoon?
            Just wondering.
No doubt Saudi will be the first to offer up enough money for Rockin vs. Larry

What times do the fights start in the usa? Is it hard to have to watch big fights in the early morning or early afternoon?
Do americans feel it is just not the same if championship fights are no longer in las vegas or atlantic city?
Just let us know your opnions. Does anyone feel that it is wrong to hold fights in saudi arabia due to their human rights record?
How is it weird to watch fights in a time of day strange and not at peak time in the evening.

In the uk we see saudi fights around 10pm to midnight and so more people watch as many wont disrupt their sleep routine for the sake of a fight but will pay the ppv at a regular time in europe and the UK
This forum is mainly made up of americans and I would love to know what the people, especially the old schoolers feel about their nearly 100 year tradition of big fights been staged for their convenience now mainly taking oil money. Does it really piss off us boxing fans?
              Thanks
As long as they get the fights paid, the promotion of them does their job. We need big fights. The Saudi's right now promoting them. I don't care for the their ethics, but this is boxing and I judge them on that. Don King a murder is / was a good promoter too in his prime.

ha ha i agree the atmosphere lacks as the culture is not to cheer and sing. i don't know what you think but do you find that brits love to chant and sing it lifts the mood so much. in vegas i used to love seeing the celebrities all there and jack nicholson giving his s**t eating grin with his latest beauty and all the pimps in their flamboyant suits all getting ready for the fight. if fury brings over hoards of travellers to saudi christ there will so many morality police arrests man they will be arresting and beheading till the cows come home if those traditional travellers get over the en mass

I don't think much of anything because the long term goal has nothing to do with boxing. They're doing some softwar to westernize. ... ... Pretty much everyone here who isn't American lives in a nation that has already been through it. FDR killed the BE, ya know. Berlin wall is dropped. ... Just what Americanization looks like. In ten-twenty years they'll be less willing to lose money for political gains and will be another fair market of trade. Just like everyone else.

Oh man, England, the ****'s bombed the **** out of y'all. How about some American businessmen come and rebuild for yas? ... Get me? Everyone does it and after a little while people from Americanized places don't even recognize the Americanization of their people anymore. Keeping with the Brits, they will tell you they stopped BE and BE trade practices because of "economic pressures" ... what was dem pressure and where did they come from? FDR brah. This whole the UK trades like they're Americans bit came after. Similar for France, little dragged out for Germany but not terribly dissimilar, Japan's gone through it, China started to but then the CCP changed their minds so they're stuck in a weird capital-commie society.

If you look at a society today we recognize as "modern" be it industrial or human rights or whatever metric you like, and you go back in their history to a point where their culture is significantly different, that change coming in some relation to America is damn near guaranteed. Whole empires died, made a big market while they could to save their asses, then leveled off to a normal US trade partner.

Everyone else is still broke and being left behind in the global trade market. Russia is a shell and China filled that power vacuum .... After Nixon opened trade with China and they Americanized their commie **** just a bit. No one has risen without buying into the US trade network and no one can, not since WWII.

                      Edit-

                      I forgot to conclude.

So, point is, since the Kingdom is looking into the future and realizing they have to side with the US and its partners or with Russia, North Korea, China, and Iran and so on they're buying into what they can afford to buy into before they have an economic struggle and siding us US side most likely because they hate Iran. Once comfy, they might continue to like boxing, of golf, or wrestling, but I really think they're just going to become another spot in global sports without much significance over any other spot.

I mean when AJ was on top London was the mecca ... y'all need decades to claim a new mecca and do it in a couple years ... this ain't Vega, this **** just London.
