andries kept going being beaten from pillar to post for a good number of rounds. not the worst but i recall watching it with a big bottle of cola as a kid.
Are you talking about Hearns vs Andries?

I was at that bout too, can't remember if it was at the Palace or at Cobo doe.

Andries got beat up that night.

I actually got to exchange fists with Andries....................Rockin'

That was a good, tough fight. Thanks for bringing it up!

I had never seen the bout.

It seemed that Sosa was coming on when the bout was stopped and Williams eye was cut and swollen.

        But not enough stop it.

I believe that it was actually was the doctor who stopped the fight though..........Rockin'

the only thing ill give Barkley credit for though was that he took all those shots well. Wasn’t getting dropped or “hurt” so to speak. The damage was mostly superficial, by beatdown standards.

Calzaghe vs. Lacy was a total paste job. I felt sorry for Lacy lasting the distance. Not the worst beatings or near fatal beatings, but a sustained beating he took.

Vitali vs. Briggs was a beating. The ref or his corner should have stopped it. The toll Briggs had to pay almost killed him in the hospital.

Hype Igoe stated the worst beating he ever saw a fighter take was the one Jeffries absorbed in the 2nd Fitzsimmons fight.

Igoe said it was worse than the hiding Willard took from Dempsey.

That must of been a near death experience then

Froch vs Bute was hard to watch. A lot of people pick Bute to win. Not me. Bute had skill no doubt. He wasn't rough and tough like Froch. The beating was so bad that Bute was never the same after that fight.

A lot have already been mentioned. I'll add Holmes vs Cobb. That one is hard to watch for me.
