A few weeks after knocking out Foreman Ali gave an exhibition in London as an added attraction to a fight bill.He sparred with the British champion,and another fighter .I was present ,though a little chubby Ali looked great his reflexes were spot on and when he momentarily opened up on Gardner he made him look amateurish.
No purse bids were ever in place for a rematch and certainly $ 10m was never on the table, at that time Zaire was a one off.
Pacheco never had any say in the choice of Ali's opponents,so little was he listened to that when he sent copies of Ali's physical examination to Herbert and Dundee he was ignored.

i will defend queeny. i know he winds people up but to be honest he does talk a lot of truth just it's often unpalatable truth. I have looked a few things up and he is right what he says. it is worth remembering that in the hw division marciano was the last great white hope and that was the case for many years. that was joked about in comedy that white men have to look back all those years to a white hw champion and it angered some people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Il9jJObx7FE this sums it up!!!!! i went to see this film in the cinema and we laughed so hard, this was murphy at his best. the last great white hope and in the eighties that was so the case.

And Joe Louis is considered the best among old timers of that generation, while later generations will say Muhammad Ali, based on resume and being the first to win the lineal title 3 times. Barry Blaustein, who co-wrote Coming to America, probably wrote those boxing discussion scenes, as he's a life long sports fan who also wrote and directed the documentary Beyond The Mat years later. "F*** you, F*** You and F*** YOU, whose next?" is one of the best lines in movie history . I'm pretty sure this is one of the movies my parents took me to see at the now defunct Westbury Drive In.

Louis does have a better resume. 12 years as champion. 25 title defenses. We have to understand when Ali beat Foreman Lyle Shavers and many others. He was past his prime. He beat Foreman 10 years after beating Liston both were consider unbeatable at the time. back to Rocky. 49-0 with 43 KO's about says it all. yes, Lewis can beat Jim Corbett. Does that mean Corbett was overrated? You can't put one era vs another with 100 years between them. Let's just appreciate what they did in their era.

i don't agree with all says like he is wrong about fury as fury is a greatest contender and deserves the respect of the boxing world as he has never lost and has won every belt he could possibly win.
but i think he is right on other things. he likes to be rude to people but he is only jesting with us all. texan's are no nonsense shoot from the hip types.

He took most of his tough fights into the late rounds before succumbing.

Facing a mere 12 rounds, was he schooled enough, fleet of foot enough, to keep Lewis off him and win a SD? E.g. Hagler-Leonard.

12 rounds would feel like half-a-fight to him.

It's a Long shot bet, but the "mere" 12 rounds makes it interesting.

P.S. Crowd would 'boo' but Corbett wouldn't understand why.
