    LOL!
It's so like you to leave out the guy 200 pounds or more Such as Munore, Ruhlin, Kennedy, Van Buskirk and Johnson.

Newsflash, Jeffries was always was heaviest man in all of his fights. He did MUCH better than Jack Johnson who was KTFO our in 3 rounds vs Choynski and beat by a shop worn Griffin. Much better vs the same men and they were in their prime then. He also beat Everett a man Jeffries blew away ( Johnson drew with a shop worn version! ) and blew out Munore who last the distance vs Jack Johnson. Just some common opponents.

We know Jeffries lost when he was 35, over weight, and out of the ring for 6 years. So what. He was old very rusty. Boxing history is full of old champions who stuck around for too long but I think Jeffries holds the heavyweight record for coming back at 6 years of no fights ... maybe in all weight classes record wise.

So far on this board Ali, Louis, Monzon, Duran, are all overrated. I guess Babe Ruth is overrated as well.

On this forum, Jesus is considered overrated. It's a FACT that he 'saved' in the weakest period of Christianity ever. He couldn't complete with today's saviors.

That's why Pat Robert's and Billy Graham made more money than Jesus.

P.S. Sorry I forgot to say it again.. It's a fact!

Could not agree more. Johnson is known for wins over burns, Ketchel, and Jeffries. Burns and Ketchel were both 5 foot nothing and were middleweight at best. Jeffries hasn't fought in 6 six years and had to lose 100 pounds. yet Johnson who made a career out of fighting fat MWs is great. But Rocky sucks for fighting HWs of his era.

it is worth remembering that in the hw division marciano was the last great white hope and that was the case for many years. that was joked about in comedy that white men have to look back all those years to a white hw champion and it angered some people. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Il9jJObx7FE this sums it up!!!!! i went to see this film in the cinema and we laughed so hard, this was murphy at his best. the last great white hope and in the eighties that was so the case.

Foreman was a great come back story. But he was very active and is known for his come back win over former light heavyweight and glass chined Moorer. He cashed in on his punchers chances vs a chinny opponent.

I mentioned the men that Jeffries vastly outweighed. DUH!
I never mentioned Jeffries defeat by Johnson.Since you have Jeffries was not overweight he was227lbs when he fought Johnson, he had defended his title several times weighing considerably more.
                    Jeffries was 35 Johnson 32.
When you disparage Johnson I've never heard you mention he was 35 when he drew with Battling Jim nor that he was fighting with a broken arm.
I've never heard you mention that he was 37 when he lost to Willard and at 225 17lbs over his best weight which was 208lbs

Neither have I heard you state Jackson was alcoholic and consumptive when he lost to Jeffries indeed you stated Jackson," had recovered his best form!"lol
I've never seen you mention Jackson was 36 years old and hadn't fought for over 5 years.

Never heard you mention Fitzsimmons was 39 and had been retired for 2 years when Jeffries defended against him,or that Jeffries was 12 years younger, or that Fitz was47lbs lighter!

Marciano was a great fighter and champion, there are very ,very few men under 190lbs I would give a decent chance with him.
