What I commented on was you saying that the Ukraine tragedy represents the devolution of mankind and the downward spiral of the modern world. I was just reminding you that mankind is not devolving or spiralling downward. We have been invading and occupying each other's territories, exploiting, killing, enslaving and terrorising each other since the year dot. You just proved that with your last comment!

Sadly, the kind of shit going down in Ukraine right now is nothing new.

FYI ... the end of the Vietnam war triggered a genocide in Cambodia in which 2 million people - 25% of the population - were massacred by Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge army.

The causes of these conflicts always seem to be western powers' initial causes and/or economically driven.
