Strange antics for a man who just won the heavyweight championship of the world, don't you think? Willard found a bolt in the ring and kept it his entire life.

I'm not taking any credit away from Dempsey just stating the facts and film. What was Dempsey best win in your opinion and was it clean? Names are requested.
When not engaged in rather personal insulting matches you raise good points, respect.

I agree Dempsey's resume is shallow for a man who is consistently ranked top ten all time, quite often top five.

Jack Sharkey coming off wins over the black HWs Dempsey ducked certainly helps Dempsey's stance in that debate. Especially since a decade later Sharkman Jack would still be good enough to get title shots.

That said, Vitali's resume is pretty lacking. Soslowski and such rabble. I guess Nipple and Dereck, never wins any important fights but somehow is always ranked nicely Chisora are good enough wins given they're still viable contenders ... when they're active. I don't know why Nips put on such a match against Ruiz and then stopped fighting again. I thought he won that fight.

Between them I think Gibbons, Sharkey, and Gunboat are better wins than anything V's gotten.

But, I also think focus on wins and names doesn't really address hows. When you are absolutely destroying fodder while other guys struggle with them, you may not have a great resume but you still have a good argument for those who do. Vitali was always a good show, dominant, and even his loss against Lewis shows he was a great HW.

I probably rate Dempsey between 8-10 spots above Vits. And please don't start with the color line when you are perfectly willing to give Jeffries a pass for drawing it himself. Even with the color line, Dempsey still beat the reigning champion and his win against Sharkey are far more impressive than anything on vits resume. If you want my list go back and find it. I've already provided it once. I'm not at your beck and call. What hall of fame fighter did Vits even beat?

I don't see any real interest from him about boxing, his only interest is in making silly unsupported claims, but,as I said earlier he is harmless enough.

          5. Monte Barrett

Ewww gosh that's a gringe worthy list. Ruiz and Fres Oquendo could put you to sleep watching them box. Golota if you liked nut punches. Heard Andre Ward trained with him for the Kovalov rematch...
