From my observation very few heavyweight fighters are in good in fighters , and there is a notion out there that only shorter fighters and not tall super heavyweights can be in fighters. Really?

Since 1990 only Bowe has been a fine fighter in-fighter among heavyweights. Others such as Lewis were good in-fighters. Vitali Klitschko and even Tyson Fury are solid in-fighters. IMO, the upper cut is a tall man's punch, not a short man's punch. For openers being much taller than your opponent make it difficult to land such a punch. You don't want to miss an uppercut or you will be countered due to the trajectory of the punch and the recovery time of it! Secondly who were the guys who were short guys laying such a blow vs super heavyweights?

Tua, Tyson and Holyfield did nothing with the uppercut vs Bowe and Lewis. When matched vs. a sub 6'2 opponents they were all out the minus column vs skilled super heavyweights, weren't they? I would say yes. Toney did squat vs a taller heavyweight.

As it stands now, great height is an advantage on the inside, and great size is certainly an advantage in the cliches. The natural advantage is almost as great as an out fighter enjoys with a much greater reach.
Actual infighting is a lost art. It requires not being scared to be hit at first, until the fighter gets very good at it.

what people don’t realize about Armstrong, Frazier and Marciano for example - is they actually wouldn’t box on the outside at all. They got low and ONLY seeked to get inside. This is how they beat tall fighters all the time. If the tall fighter couldn’t deal with it - it was often over from the first round onwards.

Bowe is a decent inside fighter for his size, but he’s no master, he doesn’t move his head inside or make fighters miss. Because he’s tall he doesn’t smother anyone either.

Tua and Tyson were built like inside fighters but never developed the skills.

you look at guys like Benton, Carter, Griffith etc at middleweight - they could all fight inside very well.

I think it was Stewart who said in response to how a boxer should deal with a short pressure fighter with inside fighting capability - “just be a better match maker, and don’t make those fights happen”. In the case of Ali vs Frazier it was public demand that asked for it, in reality nothing in Alis style was made to deal with a Futch styled pressure fighter. Only Alis heart made the fights competitive. He remained on the ropes most of the fight and used savvy to survive and find openings. In this position he was unable to fire back punches with real steam on them since Joe kept pushing him back.

Sorry to hear you need Viagra.

Did you know the Shellfish in Seattle's Puget Bay test positive for Viagra and *******? Most global waterways are heavily contaminated with this, that, and the other, most notably Viagra counterfeits produced in Asia sold around the world. We need you to man up to your creation.

      Well?
      Wait, what?

What the hell does athletes being on PEDs have to do with Viagra & *******?

Dude, Lance Armstrong was the most drug tested athlete on planet Earth and was roided to the gills.

We all know boxing's drug testing is a joke.

Fact is, human beings didn't just start growing exponentially in the past 20 years NATURALLY.

When you start seeing dudes getting bigger, stronger, and faster, believe there's drugs involved.

        That's not true at all.

Americans and people who are born & raised in 1st world countries stop growing 50 years ago

The only people who are getting taller are people from places where they are malnourished.

Now, we're fatter because of the food we eat, but there's no reason for Americans, Brits, etc. . .to be any bigger than we were 50 years ago.

          - - Proof? Your Proof just went Poof!

I ain't your WE, so get it straight. Your ****** poll in this case is like most ****** polls of limited scope with the value sought designed into the poll that never gives the limited parameters employed much less the margin of error that could be as high as 50%.

What I know being born in the US is when I matured, I was then at the average height for a male. Women averaged out 4" less. Now I see a blizzard of Amazonian Women who are no longer sequestered in their homes growing up as they were in my day. Instead they're playing soccer, softball, track and field, tennis, swimming just like the guys used to, even boxing and rasslin'.

300-400 lb guys and gals are routine, even 250 lb elementary kids but of course most are blubberized within their limited family culture.

The guys 6-2 and up are greatly more populous than in my day. Of course my observations are just my own limited to my available populace of 1mil+.

Only drug that can make a person taller is growth hormone which is what they put that kid soccer star on when it looked like he had a growth impairment.

Clearly you are socially and scientifically challenged, so give it up along with your viagra...

Yes, people are getting taller and bigger in most nation. Look at the WWII and historical data.

              I agree.

Maybe this growth spurt 1700s to 2023 will slow down and even level out in the next few generations.

Average height of an American Revolutionary soldier was 5' 6" tall. By the Second World War that had jumped to 5' 9" tall.

Artificial fertilizer created a 19th century food surplus, add in a diversity of crops, and we created a better nourished polulation which aided in growth.

We may well have gained what we can from proper nourishment and the current dramatic jump in height and weight may be artificial. I. e. PEDS

People used to get bigger each generation because before the 20th century, very few people go adequate nutrition.

But we're not talking about a bunch of 3rd world heavyweights here, we're talking about mostly people who were already from 1st world nations.

Those people are not getting bigger.

Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, and Tyson Fury are not from 3rd world countries.

Hell, very few of the biggest heavyweights are from 3rd world countries

We stopped growing 50 years ago.

The guys are just mostly juicing with very few exceptions.

                    - - Just pointing out never in the history of the world has drug use so contaminated the natural environment.

You have no ground to accuse anyone of drug use because of your Viagra use extrapolated from legit statistical compilation.
