  • Rank your top 5 fighters in the post-Mayweather era.

    1- Canelo Alvarez
    2- Roman Gonzalez
    3- Naoya Inoue
    4- Nonito Donaire
    5- Juan Francisco Estrada

Gonzalez, Donaire and Estrada are basically done in high level competition. I don't think they'll take any significant win anymore. Canelo is arguably top 10 ATG (will have a case for 5 if he beats Bivol and Benavidez) and Inoue has a potential to become top 20 ATG with good career management.

    What are your lists?

My initial thought was that Ward & GGG had to be in the mix, but then I realized Mayweather's career ended in summer of 2017. Thats 1 month before Canelo GGG 1, so pretty much erasing all of G's best years, and AFTER Ward Kovalev 2- so erasing all of Ward's career. In my mind the Mayweather era came to an end early 2010s, but thats not the case. It seems crazy to me that he only retired so recently, but really this is asking the top five fighters of the past five years.

          -Usyk
          -Inoue
          -Canelo
          -Fury
-5th spot is up for grabs between a lot of guys

I find this to be an interesting take. As a long time history teacher, I like to hear where people feel history begins. I remember in college, in a history teaching class, it was brought up how far up do you go, in essences when does history begin (or end)?

Where would you put the line at, where history ends?

                    - - History in the making starts with every new generation, but most ain't bright enough to understand that salient point, ie my "progessive" hometown adopting some of the most atrocious political scams per pound of population that can be had. They will be pilloried at the end of their days because of the worst environmental and cultural destruction of their shared era, but they the cool guys in their shared echo chamber today.

AJ and Wlad made some history together as dominant unified champs heavily ducked by most all contenders wanting an easier shot at the weakest title currently held by Monsieur Fury, aka La Blubberia...
