Did Robinson fight many southpaws? I know it can't be many, they were practically nonexistent in that era. That would be the only interesting dynamic, Robinson was a natural welterweight.

Robinson was 5'11 but he was skinny as a rail.

Pacquiao actually comes to fight weighing more than Robinson.

Jake Lammotta, who was 5'8 and had the same reach as Pacquiao was able to **** with SRR. Lamotta isn't half as quick as Pacquiao and doesn't boast half the skill either.

Robinson at Welter always came in at 147 - 152
          Pac's last 2 Welterweight fights he's come in at 144 and 145.

Pac's chin doesn't come close to LaMottas which is what was keeping him going through all the fights, imo.

But I kind of agree with you, Pac is being under rated in this match up by some people but I still think that Robinson ends it by KO fairly early.

I think this is a tough fight for either. Pac's speed, conditioning, chin, workrate and southpaw style would prove problematic for most welterweights in history.

You have to pick Robinson, but it wouldn't be a whitewash at all in my opinion!

Only crazy idiots bump threads more than a dozen years old to say the same thing they've said in two other threads over a dozen years old that they've already bumped this week. Seek help, not attention.

                      - - This is a good question for old school Same Day AM weighins, say 9-10 AM.

Headliner might go on say 11PM, so a slim guy Robby @158 might weigh 163-164 come fight night, more or less his normal street weight. Jake near had to saw off body parts to make 160, so he might go on a Duran style Binge post fight with his Mama's Italian spread, rolling into a nap at 170. Then say 5PM takes a laxative purge, and settles in for light breakfast fare, say half lb of ground round with a couple of eggs and hash browns to sit on 5 hrs before the fight, likely around 168-169.

Dunno why Duran didn't take a laxative purge after his post weighin 2 porterhouse steak dinners before his Leonard rematch, but in hindsight, sure he knows he blew that opportunity.

I believe laxatives are banned today, but I don't know the extent since many plants exist that could do the job as good as a drugstore laxative.
