      I wonder sometimes if when a dominate fighter cleans out his epoch we don't too quickly assume it to be a weak era? E.g. Jeffries, Louis, Marciano, Tyson.

      Domination may fool us into under-rating the competition. Then again it also just might be true.

      I don't think the Hagler's MW division particularly weak just no opportunity for others to shine. Maybe!

        Great post. Food for thought no doubt!

        I would rated the best by any means, but that era had a lot of solid to very good fighters in it. Marvin was just that good.
