He clearly started if he was younger he would have won in print with context and detail. He also offered Johnson a private fight, and Johnson wised tucked tail. Educate you, I will.

Still talking about a 19 year old who lost his next three fights in a row. And one who had very few fights being worthy of a title sho

Exhibitions can be really hard to discern back then. Sometimes they would really go at, other times not.

There is footage of a Dempsey exhibition against some guy who personally insulted him. It looks like he wants to kill the guy.

Ever watch the SRR v Willie Pep exhibition. Pep is trying to turn it into a fist fight and SRR won't go along.

I have not been following this conversation so I'm not sure of your intent but if the guy had 20 exhibitions and they were only just exhibitions one could still argue that should be enough preparation to take on a real fight at the end of the year.

Munroe beating Sharkey is held up as some great feat.lol.
Sharkey had won just 1 of his last 6 fights and had been stopped 3 times in those losses he was totally DONE!

He also said right after the fight ended that if he was young he would have won. It's there to read. Right back at you. And he offer Johnson a fight when he was in his prime. Johnson declined! Read it.

Munroe beating Sharkey and fighting over 20 exhibitions was still better than McVey losing three in a row and then being inactive for all of 1905.

That's one of the many ongoing debates here that can never truly be resolved. Some exhibitions fighters went after it, particularly if they didn't like one another, while others were more or less sparring sessions to earn a paycheck and promote fighters. Keep them busy while promoters can also get their end of the take.

Johnson has lots of 3,4, and 6 rounders on his resume. He even kept his colored title while low blowing Jeanette in two rounds in a DQ loss! Explain the above FACTS. Calling you out. Do not attempt to spin things. Answer the question, Tony.

And I still laughing directly in your face in the power thread. Johnson hit harder than Bowe you say?

Bullshlt. He admit that he could have never beat Johnson, just like I said. Never offered Johnson a chance at his title or he would have fought him before going into retirement.

                    Deal with it

                      - - I'm sure you recall Jack's early 30s exhibition tour across continental US where he took on all comers, civilians and boxers alike.

This was post Wall Street Crash where ready cash was starting to dry up. He was literally fighting himself into boxing shape as he took the pulse of the people while pondering a comeback that coincided with Kid Louis making his spectacular debut. We could've had that bout to talk about. Those damned Fates!
