Averaged, as I understand it in this regard, is the average of the measured number of viewers at certain points of the broadcast. Just as when you have a football game. There's a certain number to the first half and a certain number for the second. The average is then the total combined number of viewers divided by 2.

Vitali Klitschko entered as The Ring Magazine No. 1 heavyweight contender and Solis was the No. 10 contender.
Someone want to explain to me how "viewers" can be "averaged" ?
The fight averaged 10.98 million viewers in Germany.
Isn't "viewer" a lot like being pregnant, either you viewed it or you didn't. What the hell does "averaged" mean?
I have never encountered a TV rating that included the word "averaged" unless it included multiple presentations (I guess).
Waiting for someone to post the ring magazine issues ratings the month before and month of as it will confirm what I saw with my owns eyes that Solis was ranked. And being a fan who closely followed Vitali's career is wise not to bet side against me. Again Cliff said he checked in the June issue, I 100% believe he did but the fight was in March and Soils fell out of the ratings due to the loss by then. It was there, before the June issue. I saw it and would testy as such in a court of law. Does he have the pervious issues to post? Can anyone confirm Soils was raked by ring magazine as I said he was before the Klitschko fight? This was confirmed on another forum! Do I need to find that and post it here?Last edited by Dr. Z; 10-24-2022, 10:54 AM.

Otherwise it is false if there is no evidence for it.

Despite all of Wikipedia's problems the statement has not been edited out so I think it is only fair that Z no longer needs to prove his statement but others need to disprove it.
He has stated a direct source, Ring Rankings, March, so I don't think he is being unreasonable.
No doubt one can not prove a negative so Z is pretty much bound to the months of March and April, as we know Solis isn't ranked in June.
So Z can't be moving the goal posts on us by changing months, but he deserves (considering the Wikipedia article's support for his conjecture) the benefit of the doubt until he is proven wrong.
I think the burden of proof has been switched to Z's distractors. Wikipedia as of now says what Z says. Time to prove them both wrong not just say they're wrong.

What always got me was how free TV, ie ABC, Nbc, Cbs, and public radio could know how many tuned in. The way I understand it they paid a representative population viewers to attach a device that tells them when they're viewing, + a Neilson view poll of sorts, a sorta hybrid of science and alchemy.Willie Pep 229 likes this.

If anyone is going to insist that Solis was ranked then it's up to them to provide proof. A vaguely worded Wikipedia entry isn't going to cut it.
