As quick as it was, nothing beats the Spinks performance

      Don't overthink this.

Spinks ended Holmes' 7 year reign as HW champ, was undefeated, and was only 6lbs lighter than Tyson.

Spinks was his best win. Despite the objections of those who think he was just a blown up LHW, he had four fights at HW before facing Tyson, two of them were wins over a still prime Holmes.

          - - Prime pre King, pre Givens, pre dangerous experimental psychotropic sedatives Tyson was the most exciting, explosive fighter in boxing since Jack Dempsey first made boxing a spectacle event. Most every fight Tyson had was his best.

The way the 20 yr old Tyson exploded Berbick out of the water was one of them. The way he shut up fat Lar, leaving him crucified on the canvas for a 50 count was epic. Running over the Spinks Jinx was bestial.

He was in a number of exciting fights afterwards, but never near his best again.

            Best fight or best win?

Best win Spinks; most exciting fight to watch, Holyfield I. A brutal encounter you knew wasn't going the distance but no clue who would succumb first. Great fight.

One time he was, in my opinion: namely, when he fought Alex Stewart.

Stewart had just given Holyfield hell, but Tyson literally annihilated him in less than a round. That was the last time I saw Tyson at the peak of his power.

Pinklon Thomas was one that really grabbed me. Thomas was, not too too long prior, tabbed by many as the next big thing. Tyson wrecked him good.

                  Agree on both points.
