All I can do is refer you to the films of their fights and their results,or perhaps you believe a fighter is prime at 38?

Its always hard to bet against Marciano lol. prime for prime Walcott and Charles would win more times. In other words, if they fought 5 times each, with 20 fights total, 5 in prime each guy, 5 out of prime... I would expect to see more wins based on shopworn considerations.

        - - Walcott and Archie had late boxing primes not in tune with traditional athletic boxing primes.

        Thought this was settled history.

Moore stated his legs were gone by the time he fought Marciano.
If Walcott was prime for Marciano why did he retire after their fights?

              I mixed up nothing.I was being "irreverent"LOL!
Moore's statement can be found in a tape recorded interview with Pete Heller in the excellent book," In This Corner."
If you can find the book, get some one to read it to you.

                - - Arch ruled over LH div for near 8 yrs after Rocky and had to be stripped of the title ultimately to give poor Harold Johnson the title.

Compiled a 36-3-2, 24 KO record, ie SRLeonard HOF worthy numbers with nary a diva retirement thrown in.

Doesn't look like reading books does much for U.

Nope!!! Moore was ko'd by Marciano on the 25th of October 1955 he made a further 4 defenses of the undisputed title which took him up to 1960..then he was stripped of his title on 24th of Sept1960 for refusing to defend against his number one challenger Johnson. His next defence was for only that portion of the title as recognized by NY ^ California the NBA had withdrawn recognition, so even if you include that defence his reign after his loss to Marciano was only5 years! Moore never defended his title against the number 1 challenger in any of those years.
                  Pompey was no2
Durelle was number 3 both times 4 defences and only 2 ranked in the top ten.
Anthony was unranked when they fought
                  Meanwhile Johnson was
                  No1 in57
                  No2 in 58
                  No 1 in 59
                  No1 in 60
                  No 1 in 61
If you don't defend against your number one challenger for 4 years you deserve to be stripped of your title! You don't own the title ,it's only yours whilst you demonstrate the willingness to defend it against your top challengers!

They first fought in 49 when Johnson was 20,for their other fights he was 23.
                      Their last fight was in1952
They never met when Johnson was prime.
                      Johnson was ranked;
                      No 1 in 53
                      No 3 in 54
                      No7 in55
                      No 1 in57
                      No2 in58
                      No 2 in59
This is getting monotonous .Do try and raise your game a bit, nobody enjoys a walkover!
