I was legitimately asking. I'm not strong in LHW history. Big Spinks/RJJ fan but any other era I need to pick up my game to speak to with any confidence. The record keepers are not great so I figured maybe Hook has a paper source or some such.

Was ****** of me to not check Greb's record. I just went all over looking at Jack.

Delaney was Worlds Light Heavyweight champion. Greb wasn't,and they never fought anyway.

        3. Georges Carpenter
        4. Bob Fitzsimmons
        5. Michael Spinks
        6. Philadelphia Jack O'Brian
        7. Billy Conn
        8. Bob Foster
        9. Roy Jones Jr.
        10. Jack Dillon
Carpentier was in my top ten for years then I read up on him a bit more. His title win over Levinsky may have been a fix and his scalps at175lbs are underwhelming as was his reign imo.Siki was supposed to go into the tank but decided not to when the Orchid Man began to take liberties.
Fleischer ranked O Brien highly at175lbs but who did he beat there?
Fitz was probably at his best around 175lbs,but again, he beat Gardner and O Brien and that was about it. For the same reason I don't rank him at 160lbs ,too shallow a talent pool, so I don't have him in my top ten at175.
Feel free to criticize my ten, we want debate.

          Gene Tunney (heavyweight champ)
          Bobby (gives them) Fitz
          Battling Levinsky
          Georges Carpentier
          Billy Conn
          Jimmy Slattery
          Ezzard Charles

Apart from Dillon whom he significantly outweighed ,whom did Levinsky beat at 175lbs? He also took great advantage of the no dec era to extend his reign.

Torres doesn't make my top 20.He beat a 36 years old Olson , a 30years old Pastrano, having his last fight and lost his title to a 37 years old Tiger. Good defence against Cotton and a decent win overThornton,Calderwood was a bit of a gimmee imo.
Likewise Lesnevich doesn't make my top 20,ducked Marshall,Charles,Bivins and missed Booker,Bolden and several others.
            But each to their own.

I find it interesting you wanted to limit this to champions and so no Charles or Tunney who are very popular choices for the single greatest LHW of all time but don't see any issue with using those names to discredit other men's resumes.

Anyway, I favored titles and defenses over resume, simple as.

                  Saad beat who? for what?

                  Delaney defended what when?

Dillon...I am quite sure if Foster got to fight guys like Tim O'Neil and Charley Weinert and such he'd have 20+ defenses under his belt.

Who props up Conn if not Lesnevich? That's a lot of respect to give a guy with a one name resume.

Johnson's a guy who struggled every single time he faced talent isn't he? Scholz being his single undisputed defense color me unimpressed.

                    - - Not much into limited, 2 dimensional linear 123456 lists these days, but boxrec is the most impartial judge of rankings no matter how flawed their algorithm.

I would personally have Michael Spinks #1, but here tis where you can eliminate non champions like Ez, ect...
