Marciano and his management

every fighter or man with status back then was having sex with hookers or mistresses. Its America. And before America, you had nobles and guess what, they did the same thing! Honestly I don’t judge a mans character based on the worlds standards. Many of the plebs pointing fingers would turn around and do the same thing.
If you gave users on this forum punch cards for 22 year old hookers, those invitiations wouldn’t sit on the dresser for too long lol…
in Alis book he had an army of **********s in his camp at all times. For him and his trainers. And when they were done he would have sex with their girls too. Ali was an animal. Having a threeway every night was the norm for Ali even during camp. Even his wife would drop him off at mistresses houses under the guise that he wouldn’t give her the details on his business.Comment

Willie Pep a good friend of his said he was a miser and never ever bought a round of drinks.Jimmy Durante named him America's Guest there are loads of quotes from his friends and even his brother Sonny testifying to his phobic dislike of spending money.
He once grabbed the matchmaker and promoter Mickey Duff by the lapels of his jacket because he thought he was being shortchanged. Its known he would turn up for interviews in scruffy old clothes unsuitable for a public appearance and TV companies would fit him out from wardrobe with a new outfit.Duff confirmed this because when they brought him over as a special guest at the Anglo American Sporting Club Duff ended up paying for his suit!
Oh I know where to find sources for my quotes I've two biographies on him,all you've got is your own opinion.which though precious to you is absolutely worthless without sources to back it up. Now do go and do some research there's a good boy.
To just be a blovated, opiniated azz and proclaim "Marciano was a miser" is just ignorant. and I don't care about if it is an insult, or not... thats not my point. Im not defending Marciano... Anyway ill let someone else explain it to you... lol. this is my contribution to the halfwit brigade today.Comment

And when you asked for a trainer that felt that way, I actually obliged, your response? to critique the trainer! Idiot lol.

However, it is common knowledge that the midget that forced a walk during the St Louis Brown's World Series was, up to that point, the finest most upstannding gentleman... I have this on record in one of a few blovated cow stomachs that render opinions like a pan renders bacon fat...Comment

Yeah... like I do not remember claiming any special knowledge and I certainly didn't know it was a contest... Knock yourself out bub... Your a blovated opinion producing machine! lol. Your the one who thinks opinions are facts, and that people ought to give you sources for common knowledge lol, not I. The fact that many trainers held Marciano in high esteem is not debatable idiot... Just like one does not cite the Bible as a source ok?And when you asked for a trainer that felt that way, I actually obliged, your response? to critique the trainer! Idiot lol.
I'm not giving my opinions, I'm giving those of his close friends, boxing managers, and promoters, boxing writers, celebrities, and in one case his brother. If you don't want to accept them WTF do I care?
There are many testimonials to Marciano's reluctance to spend money.
Willie Pep said they were at a dinner being wined and dined and after a while he thought he would reciprocate and offered to buy a round of drinks.Marciano excused them took Pep to one side and angrily said ,don't make me look bad I'm not going to buy a drink or spend any money and neither are you so don't embarrass me.
Whom have you ever met/known who habitually carried a device to enable them to make free calls from public phones?
Why don't you read up on him before attacking me for giving the opinions of those that actually knew him? I see you practice Martial Arts,I'd say with your attitude to anyone you disagree with that's a very wise move ,because you're a proper bell-end! !Comment

Mr. Marciano just played by the rules and socked your head off, by buggery. He didn't have to headbutt, hit low, or sneak 'em in late. The man was pure valor in the ring, and honored the rule book religiously. We start from there, and I'll fist the first man who'll have no part of it.Comment

Once again, the point alludes you... Let me try to break it down for you... ONCE. Then ill let you sprout your usual nonsense ok? This being a history section its not necessarily relevant to characterize someone superficially. Its more inmportant to characterize "why." All of us could be characterized for our foibles but it tells us nothing. Marciano as a historical figure came up hating to see his father working away... He became determined not to have to slave away for a living. He also had an obsessive/compulsive relationship to cash because it gave him a sense of security regarding the abject poverty that he was trying to avoid.

What Marciano's motives were for being a miser may very well be ,excusable.and understandable, what they do not change is that he was one! Sorry Mr Fan Boy.Them's The Fact's LOL
ps .It's eludes as in escapes, not alludes which is in reference to.Last edited by Ivich; 05-05-2022, 06:05 AM.Comment
