Who Were the Black Heavyweight Standouts Who Were Denied Title Shots Between Tunney and Louis' Reign

I'm sure there were some very good Black heavyweight fighters between the reigns of Tunney and Louis, but we don't often hear any of them mentioned as being a glaring example of being denied a title shot like Harry Wills was, or like Joe Louis surely would have been if he had been denied a title shot.


George Godfrey comes to mind. He was ranked around #7 in 1929. Were there any others?

With Wills chasing a title shot for seven years to no avail may have soured managers and trainers from wanting to invest in a black HW.
