Easily for most of them. Even if Wilt had quit basketball in 64' and was given 4 years to convert.

And possibly.... Tom Payne, Mark Gastineau, Duke Slater, Ed Williams, Monsterman Evrett Eddy, Adrian White, Al Spohrer, Jeremy Schruggs, Art Shires, Ted Reiter, Paul Bonson, Frank Bialowas, Liem Messam, Roy Father Lumpkin and Ernest Tex Hamer are a few more who just may have creamed Chamberlain as well.
I don't disbelieve you, but who the hell are they?

michael Jordan, because he was extremely competitive, prideful and smart. Lebron is too ****** even though he's a physical beast. I could see him getting touched on the chin and quitting or just getting knocked out.

Gastineau, Gastineau! I'd bet on your mother to take Gastineau.

Unless your mother is crooked and will take money to tank the fight, like everyone one of Gastineau other opponents did, until one didn't, then it was over.

No, Wilt murders Gastineau; your mother murders Gastineau.

P.S. Word is that Gastineau's people approached Foreman II for a fight and Foreman told them to build a reasonable record and he would give them a fight. So they started hiring tankers with no concern whether Gastineau learned to fight or not. It was all about building to one big payday.

Maybe Jim Brown could have had success?

Gastineau was one of the premier tough guys in NFL history and a feared individual by NFL standards, which is all well known stuff. But a fight, a real fight vs. Foreman!!!???? Bring a body bag to that one. Gastineau joins Ed Too-Tall Jones, another highly feared player, as case examples of why being a tremendous athlete is to fighting as having steady hands is to being a chess master. Youknow, it helps get you started in the business but it doesn't bring it all home. it's certainly true that the inventor of the sack dance and holder of the sack record couldn't fight a lick, even if he did, by his own account, get into the best condition of his life trying. But....try he did, as did every other athlete I have listed, which in great contrast, God's gift to the world Wilt Chamberlain DID NOT TRY. And that makes all the difference. I see these wannabe tought guys, famous in schoolboy type sports or not, like I see a a NON-War veteran faking having been in the military so that he can panhandle. F THAT.

The majority seem to believe that without extensive batting practice no non-boxer is going anywhere in boxing.

Now, is there an exception to every rule? Let us see if we can build such a man fictitiously.

He comes from another sport, so is already in tremendous shape. He gets four months to train, like any other fighter. In other words, he does not step directly from his street clothes into the chalk box.

He is used to hard contact and danger.

                  He stands between 6' and 6' 3"

No wife beater, he has been in street fights.

He is known as a supreme strategist in his own sport.

Huge milking muscles in either wrist give him a grip that can pulp young potatoes, and allow him to smash opponents in the top of the skull, should they lower their heads a la Holyfield.

                  * * * * *

I am going to go against consensus and state that I believe the chances are good that somewhere out there, in some sport or other, a super athlete already exists who might mop the floor with a bloated intestine the likes of Tyson Fury and the rest of today's zombie corps of contenders, given four months to train.

He sparred with Ali in London prior to the second Cooper fight. We have no way of knowing how he would have done as a boxer.I just threw his name into the hat as a possible candidate. TBH I have no particular interest in this so if you are looking for yet another argument you've picked the wrong guy.

If you answered him, lad, you are the right guy. He will latch to you like an abalone. I have assigned him an experienced mentor (Bilbo), however, and await the first signs of change.
