    Most Dramatic Knockdown?

    KNOCKDOWNS (no knockout blows allowed)

    Any opinions?

    Rules:

The KD didn't end the fight; fallen fighter had to get up and continue fighting. (The fallen fighter can be KOed by a different blow, just not that one.)

How the KD affected the fight is in; how it affected either fighters' legacy is in.

      Says much about Alis 'greatness.'

      IMHO It's Ali-Frazier I.

The 15th round KD changed the fight from "Frazier decisioned Ali" to "Frazier beat Ali."

I think W/O the KD there is an immediate rematch; also endless arguments on this forum as to who actually won. At least we are spared that.

Copper KD was big, I suspect it seriously effected the odds for Liston-Clay I.

        Sticking to more recent history...

Benn getting knocked out of the ring in the first round vs McClellan.

Fury coming back from the dead vs Wilder.

Gatti being hit by a wicked body shot vs Ward.

Carbajal next to being knocked out by Chiquita Gonzalez.

Douglas knocked down hard by Tyson.

I wonder how much of that one affected Wilder; take the wind out of the sails.

Not much aware of what happened before the 1970s, but during the period of 1970 to today, BennMcClellan
              must be the #1.
It was the sure case of “turn off the telly, this fight is over”.

Entriguing thread. Want to know more about the "most dramatic knockdowns" of earlier days.

                - - Ali groupies even with the KD refused to accept the loss, actually spamming ancient Fleischer with guerrilla demands to rank Ali in his top ten in spite of Nat not ranking any active boxer for the history of that list.

A vintage example: Jack Dempsey was also sent flying out of the ring by Luis Firpo before coming back and knocking him out.

Probably the most famous fight painting of all time as well.
