But let's be real. If Leonard was prime, he woulda ducked a guy like Norris.
This idiot cannot even spell the word too. He writes to instead. I am amazed he does not write two for too. Give him time.

There is always a balance of halfwit-ness here... Lately Queenie has been enough of one to make up for Rusty leaving... Lazlo just came at the wrong time...

he doesn't say, but as soon as his first layoff he was diving nose first into the sniff.

Those fast legs kept him out of danger, not genius defensive moves a la Mayweather; lightning reflexes made his victories possible, not a toolbox full of traditional skills. Once the physical gifts begin to decline, so does the fighter that relies heavily on them. Witness Roy Jones, Clay and Leonard, but not Mayweather. For Floyd had himself a grand toolbox built on boxing tradition and science which enabled him to remain victorious for longer without resorting to also taking a beating in the process, graciously assisted by cherry picking, as we all know, of course.

Leonard had many other touts besides fast-twitch fibers. He possessed the full range of hurtful punches, a chin ranking about 8 on a 10-scale, superlative ring generalship (actually, the best ever), strategies galore and indomitable will. Like all great fighters he specialized in finding ways to win when the going gets tough.

Norris was an offense-monster at his peak, Leonard was an old coke whore. Norris, from a boxing family, likely took some early concussions in boyhood that went undiagnosed as he kept on sparring and training, accumulating more blows. The net result seems to have been that my daughter could have knocked Norris out, if she landed cleanly. Leonard was not good enough to do that anymore.
I actually want to add to this though, since more and more footage of these fighters such as ray is coming out we can get a better picture of how they fought. (mainly more recent sparring footage). Ray was actually masterfully slick at rolling and riding shots. Whenever a fighter barely has a mark on his face its often a sign of a sound defense (I know this is obvious) but sometimes good defense isn't flashy at all. Everyone associates good defense as something flashy.

So the consensus was that coke did him in?

Because really, the difference between the Leonard that fought Duran 3 / Hearns 2 and the Leonard that fought Norris was NIGHT and day. Yet it was only a year apart.
