the most interesting fight on my mind: Marciano vs Tyson

It is a match up that I have been thinking about for a long time. Who would win? I think Tyson had better defenses but I could be wrong. They were both powerful punchers but when I consider everything I can think of I would put my money on Tyson. I am interested in your opinions since I am no expert on boxing or boxing history but I know enough to form an opinion.

Dempsey-Marciano would be a better fight.

But Tyson-Marcinao is a must see..

Tyson '89 is bigger and faster than Rocky and would seem to be the 'smart money' bet.

What we found out later was Tyson didn't like being hit much and showed a tendency to quit mentally when fights got tough.

If Rocky could whether the first two rounds and land enough elbows/foremans and maybe a willingness to clash heads on the inside (not to mention hard body blows) '89 Tyson may give way to mentally quitting e.g. Holyfield II and Douglas. Tyson didn't like being 'stood up to.'

If Rocky can turn the fight to an inside war Tyson might give way to Marcinao's relentless pressure, but Tyson '89 threw combinations inside as hard and fast as any HW, so Rocky may not be able to make it out of round 2.

The 'smart money' --> Tyson - but I got a time machine and I saw what happened to Tyson mentally so I wouldn't bet this fight.

      - -Best to best Tyson in 1-2 rounds. Wouldn't be sanctioned in Tyson's day.

I think Rocky's style is perfect for someone like Tyson

          - -So is Frazier and Ali. Big George the only guy to trouble him of that era.

I see Tyson winning an early TKO. Rocky was prone to get knocked down early and hadn't been knocked down by anyone with that kind of speed and punching power, so he'd have to get off the canvas enough times to weather the early storm in the first 3 rounds to grind out a UD or late TKO.

                - -Only KDed twice in 49 fights with less than 10 sec total canvas time.

And you're ignoring the fact Marciano never faced anyone with that kind of speed and punchng power. You're also forgetting Rocky was a fighter who always came forward and would walk right into that power.

                    - -No surprise to see U completely ignorant that I picked early Tyson with his HOF team to KO Rocky.

Easily found in the comments section, but don't change the fact that Rocky spent 10 or less sec on the canvas during his two KDs.

U never say what grade U in.
