Great dogs. I grew up owning Shepard. My only complaint is their short life spans. 7 to 9 years if I'm not mistaken.

I have a white German Shepherd who will be 10 in December and he's still very active and agile. He has a lot of awards from traveling around the country doing weight pulling competitions.

Mine is a mutt and I am hoping that changes that stat. Yeah Dobberman's also... another really intelligent and wonderful breed. I tend to stick to Mutts because they do live longer. I really get attached... we have two right now, the other guy is a Hound mix, lol looks like someone took a Beagle and stretched it out!

I just looked it up and their life span is 9 to 13 years. I had a silver Shepard who was a trained hard dog that developed hip displasier (sp?) and had to be put down around 8, maybe 9 years old. Had an all black Shepard after that (smartest dog I ever knew) that we had to put down at 8 because it's spine was fusing together and could no longer walk. I still have pictures of that dog, best dog I ever owned, and that was 30 years ago.

White Shepards are absolutely stunning!! Beautiful dogs. If I ever come across one fir sale I would probably take it then and there. As it stands, besides the silver Shepard, I've never gone to a breeder and have always just come across, found or adopted all my animals.

              Weighs 32 kgbut no fat.
He should get to about 43kg.
AWESOME reflections by big Geore Foreman.
Have always owned Shepherd Charlie is my third.
              Cost me $4000.

Gotta love a mutt!! I've had several. I have a 12 year old pit bull right now and she's the sweetest thing ever. Her original owner passed away so my mother took her in and had her for 5 years. When she passed away last December we took Daisy in as she was already family. She's very laid back but seems to be in great health. It will be a very sad day when her time is over

                    - -I think George what was thought to be a pair of Belgian Malinois very similar to Shepards when he stepped down the plane in Zaire that immediately put him at odds with the people whom they terrorized while under the rule of the Belgians.

I saw a video of one SUPER military Malinois doing a super obstacle course no man could ever come close to completing.

Few would be able to tell them apart.
