Vitali had two hard fights in his career and lost them both. He also ducked the Bryd rematch and left it for Wlad to do the job for him. Nash out.
I thought he was clearly winning the Byrd fight when it was stopped.

Joe Louis pretty much quit against Schmeling in the first fight but then went on to have a long career showing heart, getting up off the canvas to win. Vitali after Byrd showed he was willing to fight to the death in that dog fight against Lewis. My point is many fighters have had fights where they know their body simply can't continue, but you can't brand their entire career based off one fight.

Are you kidding? Did you even see the fight? Vits own words were " its over, we're giving up. It hurts to bad." His coach did not pull him.. He could have done more to convince him to not just lay down like that, but don't make things up that simply aren't true.

                - -I mute all fights. Never heard of him saying that, but twice Ali hysterically told Angie to cut the gloves off vs Liston and Frazier. It's in most of his bios.

And your point about Vitali is?

My point wasnt about Vitaly, everyone knows he quit. My point is that you make things up. If you watch fights with no sound than how did you come to the conclusion his coach stopped the fight?

                    - -Vitali and Wlad both with their Soviet ama coach then. No doubt you're equally unstudied in the history of of the Soviet breakup that played out like a Mike Tyson train wreck in slomo, but athletes did everything their coaches asked without any independence. Any transgression resulted in being stripped from whatever team is involved and subsequent loss of their father's job and housing and Ukraine was hardly the beacon of democracy then. Life was tougher than the Soviet era where rules and laws were clear cut.

It's like Sonny quitting Clay I. Mob fighters don't quit until told to quit. You quoted Vitali verbally. Most broadcasts are too broad to capture much dialogue which is why the broadcaster has corner men/women stationed to relay any important info to the broadcast booth.

At any rate, the fight like U trying to capture a feral cat in a carpeted 400 sq ft enclosure until it's stopped, so I'm not gonna endure that verbal idiocy again just to hear another Cosell say No Mas when it's proven Duran never said that. The ama team realized they made terrible strategic era in their new learning the pro ranks and never made that mistake again. Wlad eventually snared Manny Steward and voila, the most dominant heavy reign since Joe Louis as Vitali kept his ama coach who is a legend himself.

What else U knead to know?

Lmao.....the translator translated in the corner and what Vits had to say after the fight, including how he wanted to get his title back. Did his Ama trainers make him avoid rematching Byrd as well? You offer a lot of dramatization but no evidence of any of what you said applying to Vits or his family.
