Overrated is always an odd conversation to have because it is difficult to get a consensus on whose rating you are using.

Yeah, in regards to casual sports fans and the media at large, Tyson is probably overrated; or most likely just over exposed and overly popular relative to his abilities. But in the eyes of most actual boxing fans he is generally rated accurately: a deserved Hall Of Famer but not a top 10 all time P4P

This aside, then why a fading Holyfield is justified in his worst defeats, while Tyson haters keep mentioning the Lewis, Williams and McBride fights as valid proofs of Mike's inability, when everybody knows that he was completely deteriorated as a fighter and as a man in that moment?
I didn't bring up those fights when it came to Tyson. Holyfield aged better than Tyson and he was a former cruiserweight who moved up

I know, I can see that you're not the average Tyson hater. Then again, I'm an admirer of Evander as well, make no mistake.

Tyson had his prime very young, and declined quickly. In a way he was a shooting star. Whereas Holyfield was more constant, more dedicated, and of course had less legal problems. Both are ATGs in my book. I just laugh at those who say "Tyson was an overrated bum". Even in the fights where he struggled as a younger self - I'm thinking, for example, to his points win over James Tillis - Tyson was always aware of what he needed to do and not to do. Too bad about Don King entering the scene in 1988...

          - -Aged to a 28-10-2 heavy record, a grade above Leon's 26-16-3 record, so what grade U in?

Wildly overrated. Decent enough fighter. He'd be maybe top 20/30 HW in today's much stronger era. He was well matched during his "reign", once he stepped up to fringe world level (Douglas, Danny Williams) and world level (Holyfield X2, Lewis) the only thing he left the ring with was Holyfield's ear, not the Championship belts. Nash out.

You have the same/similar response to everyone. It's weird, and I think you need to broaden your repertoire. It's one thing being as bitter as you are, and lacking any sense of fun, but to be limited to one insult, well, it makes you seem really lame. I honestly think that you are in desperate need of a good F**K. Nash out.
