  • Kostya Tszyu vs Floyd Mayweather @140

    who takes this?
Prime KT vs Prime Floyd @ 140.
Personally, I 'd go with Floyd.
He is too versatile, can adapt to any style, particularly on the inside which is KT's weakness, even though the whole fight will be fought at a distance, but I see Floyd's defence being unbreakable.

I think KT was overrated. I know that will anger a few people but i dont see why he is rated so highly, he could punch yes, he was physically strong, he was a good long range fighter, but he lacked a defence, could not fight inside and he was very upright and stiff.

As an amateur he was extremely good from what ive saw and a lot more skilled than he looked as a pro, but there are reasons why his style changed when he joined the pro ranks, which were explained to me by someone else on NSB.

Good fighter but versatile enough to beat some like Mayweather ? i doubt it, look how he struggled to get through Roger Mayweather's defence, now i know that was very early in his career but he did not adapt in that fight at all he just kept clubbing away and was not connection with solid shots. I cant see how he would get through Mayweather's defence.

Tell me one person who ever beat Tszyu easily?! Not even Vince Phillips did.

theres a big difference between Phillips and mayweather so, bad example! But i do agree it wouldnt have been easy because Tszyu made the adjustments in training and was a better fighter after that one.

Im not happy that Tszyu was side stepped by 2 of the best fighters in a decade in delahoya and Mayweather! and id have given him a great chance in both. If i had to put my house on it id say Mayweather! By a close decision that is cos Floyd is so good at keeping his poise over the distance and on the basis ive never seen floyd seriously rocked by any fighter!

Is that why when Floyd jumped to 140, he fought an old bloated Gatti rather than fight then #2 p4p Tszyu? Heck he even had to fight two title eliminators to do so. Prime for prime, there wouldn't have been anything easy about it for Floyd. Kostya was very good at timing quicker fighters. Good fight, I'm still on the fence.

Mayweather in a clinic boxing display. Kostya doesn't win a round and might get KO'd.

He would not get close enough to KT to score a knockout because that would give KT an opportunity to hit him, he would do what he always does.........run like a *** and pot shot from long range and win a boring fight.

He does not even have the power to KO Tszyu.

you took the words out of my mouth Kid.. i agree with your call here on Kostya Tszyu, i always thought he was vastly over-rated and IMO my money here would be on Mayweather and i would be confident of collecting.

Yeah, dont get me wrong he was an exceptional amateur with extremely good skills but he did not take that into the pro's with him imo, his trainer had a lot to do with him abandoning his old training regime so im told.
