Im pretty confident Haye was forced to take that fight.

Here you go, Ruiz WAS the mandatory challenger - https://www.boxingscene.com/haye-vs-...t-david--23387

      - -WBC Sissyboy Floyd never faced his welter mandatory nor has Deyonce been forced into his mandatory, Dillian Whyte for some 3 yrs now.

DKing controlled the WBA, and as I previously mentioned, had Ruiz as Lewie's mandatory along with fighters rated, so here boxrec is your friend. Look up Ruiz, click on the WBA link and look at the cast of derelicts of King fighters defending or fighting for that title in a round robin of buffoonery

Technically, Robert Guerrero and Marcos Maidana were mandatory defenses, but the WBC gives a lot of reach to anyone who brings in $$$$$$$$$$$$$

          - -Sissyboy did fight them, but interestingly he ducked Khan who won Sissyboy's own fan poll where they would chose his next opponent.

Khan was still relevant and brought in a huge British boxing interest much like Hatton and would've made much more than the above two fights. Prob being Khan was tallish, fastish, a bit of power and fast afoot and schooled by Freddie Roach. Even recently Crawford had to lowblow him to slow him down enough to KO, so Sissyboy went back on his word as he was prone to do all his life when the going looked to be too tough.

Kind of like when Dempsey didn't face Wills even though harry led the poll of who Dempsey should fight next, right?

Do you really believe they are similar situations?

              The 1922 poll:

50% of the population hostile towards any form of integration; promoters afraid to risk the guarantee money; hostile boxing commissions; with venue after venue closing its doors to the fight even before it was contracted; even before being asked.

Dempsey in his very next fight did in fact fight the second highest vote getter, the first white fighter on the fan's list, Gibbons.

There was no one; nothing blocking Mayweather except Mayweather.

              Not a fair comparison.

But for the record, by the time TBE rose to welterweight time was getting short career wise and only big fights were on the agenda.

There was, by that time, no room for mandatory defenses. Each fight needed to be a blockbuster at the cash register or not worth Mayweather's time.

By that time Mayweather didn't need scantioning he was the show and he made the right choices.

But again, your analogy is unfair; it is offered without acknowledging a very serious context, racism.

There were many people looking to get a Dempsey-Wills fight done. NY was willing to give Dempsey back his license provided he fight Wills, but didn't want the fight there. The fight was offered in Michigan though but never made. This fight could have happened, but Dempsey and or his team prevented it.

I'm not sticking up for Mayweather one bit. He was a turd. Still is in my opinion. But let's not have a double standard here. That's what I saw and that's what I called out.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one - I don't believe they were the same standard.

John Ruiz is perhaps the only fighter in history who’s trainer was more entertaining during a fight than he was.

TBF In what world does an internet poll equate to a newspaper poll in the first place?
