Give me a prime Joe over any version of Ali. In their later fights, Joe was not the same fighter. Watch his other fights such as the fight with Ron Stander, and you will notice, that while he was still very good, that version of Joe was not going to beat a great fighter like Ali.

Frazier wanted him BAD.He wanted to whip Ali's azz more than anything in the world.More than anything ever in his entire life.He wanted Ali like Duran wanted SRL in there first fight. So Frazier just might have beat a prime Muhammad Ali.It all depends on what happens when he slows Ali down and gets him on the ropes? I don't think a 1967 Ali could take a punch quite as good as he did in 1971.But how good of a punch could he have taken? Would he be able to tie up or lock up Frazier when he was on the ropes? Could Ali fight back after getting hurt and slowed down and tired? Maybe, maybe not. It's all speculation. So I'm not going to argue with you,but I'm sure not going to count out a Muhammad Ali victory either. It could go either way.

I'd give Joe 7/10 fights against Ali in his prime. Joe was an amazing fighter.

I'd give Joe 5 fights out of 10.
I think Muhammad Ali is the greatest heavyweight champion of all-time.You can lose a fight or fights and still be the GOAT.
When ranking Frazier, assuming he beats Ali,he still gets beat by Liston,Foreman, and Tyson. And maybe Holmes and Louis.Ali beats all of these fighters except maybe Tyson,so I rank Ali above Frazier.
The fight I would like to see would be a 71' Frazier against a 1969 Ali who never had a lay-off.I think this would be the greatest heavyweight championship fight of all-time! Muhammad Ali lost his best years. We never got to see him at his best.So that is the Muhammad Ali I would like to see against a 71' Joe Frazier.
I'd give Ali 8/10 fights against Frazier in his Prime.

67 Ali would beat 71 Frazier 10 out of 10 times. The one time that Ali really concentrated on movement against Frazier(their 2nd fight), when he moved, Frazier couldn't do anything with him. 67 Ali was faster of hand and foot than that Ali and could keep moving for 15 rounds. He'd have to work hard to do it, but Frazier would not win against that Ali.

Could you please score the fight for us,round by round.
What fight were you watching? Yes,it was close by rounds after 14 rounds, but Frazier knocks him down in the 15th round and CLEARLY won the fight.
If the fight was scored by the point system Frazier wins even more clearly. He gets a 2 point 11th and 15th rounds.
Please score the fight for us you blind fool.

I hope they give him a 2nd chance.Everybody deserves a second chance.
No,I don't like him,and he has zero boxing knowledge. But just like Frazier kept getting back up,I hope he gets a chance to get back up,one more time. Then if it's the same nonsense stop him for good on a TKO.

The official scorecards for the FOTC were really fishy. One of the judges had Frazier winning 11-4, which is bogus.
The other judge and ref were much closer to the truth (9-6 and 8-6-1 for Frazier) but something ain't right. They almost had an identical total score, but they disagreed on 7 out of 15 rounds! I think the decision was political.
Anyway, pre-layoff Ali wouldn't have been exhausted after 3 rounds (like post-layoff Ali), he would have danced till Frazier was dizzy eating his jab. Landslide UD for ali or a possible TKO cuz he might beat Frazier into total blindness before round 15.

1967 Ali may have been faster and had more stamina but I don't think he was as durable physically as well as mentally ready for such a gruelling fight against peak Frazier like he was in the FOTC. He may have still beaten Joe but I think he would have suffered more as a fighter if he went through that war in 67, so I think he fought Frazier at the right time.
