One of the most revealing parts of that documentary is where it says that they built a brand new 80,000 seater stadium just in order to house one of Dempsey's fights. Can you imagine them doing that for any fighter today?

Great documentary - it's a shame it stops before the end (part 7 doesn't go to the end of the documentary but stops at the end of the Jim Jeffreys fight).

I wonder how that fight would have gone if Jeffreys had fought him before he retired instead of after a 6 year absence from the ring?

The racism of that period was horrific.

Ken Burns is a fabulous documentary maker, IMO.

His jazz doco is pretty terrible. He literally skips over an entire twenty five year period in the history of jazz without any mention of it. Talk about revisionist history.

If that became the main thing for folk to look at in the future they will completely misunderstand the history and the whole is not actually historical at all. It's just wrong. Really pisses me off. It's called 'The history of jazz' or something but it's not. He should have called it 'The history of jazz from 1900 to 1965 and 1990 to 2000.'

Anyway, back on track. After some careful reading of some pretty scary threads recently I've come to the conclusion that the Klit's are indeed as bad as anyone else. Possibly even worse, though I still think that the Peso Pacquiao fans are easily as nutty and insane. It seems as though there is just a few really crazy Klit lovers here who just go all out with the racist jargon etc etc. Damn nuts.
