I followed boxing on ********* and the Tito/Popkins fight well covered on AOL and mainstream press because it was the first active event after 911. Neither AOL or ********* have an archive link from then as U would need to prove U was ever there.

It was a four man tournament put together by King and HBO, to create a single middleweight champion since King had all three champions (WBC, WBA, IBF).

Hopkins fought Keith Holmes to unify the WBC, IBF (April 2001).

Trinidad fought Joppy and won the WBA (May 2001).

Trinidad and Hopkins fought in the final for all three belts (September 2001).
