Hopkins most certainly didn't pay DiBella to get out of a contract to fight Roy. It was a libel suit, and this has been covered and proven already. And Trinidad was the number one ranked middleweight going into that fight and favored if I'm not mistaken. His destruction of Joppy cemented that. Why do you constantly make up lies about fighters you don't like?
There was never a rematch in serious play. The only time it came close they were not even close to the same weight divisions. And yes Hopkins wanted too much money, but HBO didn't help any. Hopkins fought every mandatory given, including Taylor, twice.

- -No rematch at middle because young Roy moved up leaving Popkins struggling to whoop anyone before DKing finally finagled a belt for him.
Point remains, at Popkin's high point vs Tito when Lou signed him, he paid 2 mil in a breach of contract to Lou who had him penciled in vs Roy and then SuperJoe...jus da fax, ma'am...
Prove it. Show the links that say Hopkins lost a 2m suit to DiBella for not rematching Roy. I've already provided links in another thread that say it was for libel and a decade after their first fight and almost a decade before their second. You're a liar and won't provide any proof because you can't.

He wasn't with Lou. King had every fighter involved in that tournament.

- -What tournament? Nobody I recall mentioned tournament and pretty sure Popkins was never in any tourney and the contract with King ran out, hence his contract with Lou that he never fulfilled, hence the $2 mil breach of contract judgement by the court against Popkins who weren't never the sharpest tool.
Tyson Fury. He beat the best in his division (Wlad) 3 world + lineal, maybe ring as well can't remember, and instead of racking up Mandos against bums like Inoue does, decided to retire for a while to let the others win some belts and gain the experience to be good enough to challenge him, as he lived the life.
So he comes back to fight the undisputed best of the rest Wilder, losing ten stone in a year, outboxing him for 10 of the 12 rounds to a robbery draw, then rematches him and wins the only belt he had never won, the WBC, and blasts Wilder around the ring for 7 rounds, taking his trainer, his ear, his blood, his mind, his belt, and his soul in the process.
Quality over quantity. Now factor in a third win over Wilder is coming, and two over Joshua, then the likes of Hrgovic, when Fury is done, he will go down as the best to ever lace them up. My sig is worthy of respect. Nash out.
