sweet ray leonard beat hearns in the 14th round...if it went 12 rounds he would have lost on the cards easy.....plus the fight was at 147 where hearns was drained
3 year layoff dont mean much when you beat a guy whos on the decline....tito trinidads destruction of mayorga was alot better then leonards controversial win over hagler
calzaghe has a better resume then leonardComment

Also, Leonard had only fought once in 5 years when he stepped into the ring with Hagler. Hardly an advantage?! If you think Hagler was shot at that point go and watch his previous fight against Mugabi. His skills may have been on the slide at that point, but he was far from shot.
Additionally Leonard has wins against Benitez and Duran. Please explain how this makes him a fraud?
You are giving us Brits a very bad nameComment

As much as I am a Calzaghe fan, he doesn't have the same resume as SRL. Let's just close it here.
Calzaghe needs at least to rematch Hopkins and beat Chad convinsingly before we can claim that he is at the same level as SRL.Comment

Where is Calzaghe's Duran? Benitez? Hagler? Hearns??? No one on Calzaghe's resume can stack up to any of those guys, besides maybe Hopkins, but he gave Calzaghe hell and was quite old when they fought.Comment

It's very hard to get an objective opinion on Joe. Most either have him down as an overrated fraud or an all-time great. In reality, he's neither. He is a very good fighter with some excellent wins to his name and will likely be in the Hall of Fame. But when all's said and done, his resume is thin and lacking major names. Maybe he ducked them, maybe they ducked him, maybe it was just unfortunate circumstances. Regardless, that's what keeps him from the elite, imo.
As for Ray Leonard, there are various issues I do have with his career, mainly the brevity of it and the lack of meaningful rematches after close wins. That being said, his greatness is undeniable and I see him as a class above Calzaghe, p4p and overall. The wins over Hearns and Benitez in particular surpass any of Joe's.Comment
