Wrong. Leonard beat all time great fighters in their prime, Calzaghe did not. I respect Calzaghe, but what prime names does he have that can even hold a candle to Benitez, Hearns and Duran? None.

You talk about the Hagler fight and how long it took Leonard to give Hearns a rematch. Simple fact is, Ray knocked Tommy out the first go round and had no obligation to give Hearns a rematch at all. Sure, I would have liked to have seen it sooner myself, but it doesn't change the fact Ray had already stopped him.

As far as the Hagler fight is concerned and how you view Leonard as waiting for Hagler to get old.....lets just say he did. But don't you think its worth mentioning that Leonard hadn't fought in nearly 3 years?

Calzaghe? Like I said, Leonard beat all time greats in their prime, Joe didn't. and if you're going to say Leonard made Hearns wait.......isn't Calzaghe doing the same thing to "old man" Hopkins?

Well, did you realise that he beat them the first time around when they were still in their prime? Of course, Hagler never got a rematch but it doesn't matter because Leonard beat him straight up.

He also beat Duran and Benitez. Give the guy some props for ****s sake, comparing him to Calzonie is like comparing me to Mayweather. Well, maybe not but you know.....?

Look, Calzaghe beat very good fighters in Jones, Kessler, Lacy, Reid etc and really, really good fighters in Eubanks and Hopkins, but he did absolutely nothing compared to beating Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler. That's crazy!

sweet ray leonard beat hearns in the 14th round...if it went 12 rounds he would have lost on the cards easy.....plus the fight was at 147 where hearns was drained

3 year layoff dont mean much when you beat a guy whos on the decline....tito trinidads destruction of mayorga was alot better then leonards controversial win over hagler

calzaghe has a better resume then leonard

Congratulations. You have done wonders to dispel the myth that British fight fans are one eyed and lack real knowledge of boxing history. Muppet.

I have a lot of complaints about Leonard's rematches (or lack thereof), or his negotating strategies (none about his in-ring performances though), but saying that

              is simply ridiculous.

Lol, it was a 15 round fight though and Tommy lost. And Hearns showed no effect of being "weight drained". He fought a great fight but was beaten by the better man that night.

You're comparing Mayorga to Marvin Hagler? That is just BRILLIANT!!

calzaghe has a better resume then leonard

Is ignorance really bliss, or do you care to outline the facts of this ridiculous claim?

Hagler and Hearns (2nd time) both could have wins in those matches. They were older but not completely shot. As much as I don't like Joe C, I still give him props for his career.
