The color line only seemed to have been on people's minds, both ways, when it came to the HW Championship. The public didn't care much
that the American LHW Champion (Tunney) was drawing the color line. Tunney wasn't even recognized as World LHW Champion. Probably went unnoticed.
What if: Had Tunney hung around a little longer and Louis come up a little earlier I suspect he would have had pressure to meet Louis.Comment

So you are saying
the first bad check was relevant to the first contract not the second
that Dempsey signed a second contract with CAC
so we are suspose to conclude that Dempsey walked away from that second signing (I believe you said in March) without any kind of a monetary retainer?
It is early July when Dempsey pubically breaches the contract with CAC.
If they did give Dempsey any front money why didn't they ask for it back in the law suit? No doubt they would have won that case.
The first contract promised Dempsey 60K for training expenses, whether or not the check cashed is irrelevant.
Why didn't Denpsey receive any training money after the second signing?
This dog don't hunt.
Dempsey was to receive $300,000 in August and $500,000 10 days before the fight. Then a percentage of the gate if it surpassed a certain amount and money for whatever the moving pictures took in.
If for any reason the fight didn't come off, Dempsey would be able to keep the $300,000 as per the contract.
We've gone over these details so many times now.Comment
