I’ve been wondering, in what condition was his mental health, stepping into the ring.

Young, I liked. As Houdini563 writes, “he could not break an egg with his punches”, yet
belonged among the top ranked for several years. Sadly, one of those guys whose ring
career never received any rewards. Instead, it had him pay a high price in the end.

Ben its more than just Foreman. Young arguably beat Norton and Ali if one watches the fights. He also beat Lyle and Shavers. I tell people to imagine if the judges had been fair and given Young the Norton and Ali fight what people would say about him. And Houdini is reflexive and not using any logic regarding Young's power. He stopped Foreman! lol.

      - - Starting specifically with Young being given a decision vs Ali, the whole division is reset. Then Norton beats the champ Young and then beats Lar and then forced to rematch George.

      Something along those lines.

As to George in Puerto Rico vs Young, he was being strung along by King with no Big $$$ rematch with Ali possible, the reason he retired via his training room visions.

        - - Never heard of a squirrel monkey, but my housemate Jack ordered his spiders through a South American source.

I built a winter/summer outdoor cage for them where Desmond and his harem thrived enough to propagate baby monkeys. The breeding ratio is 1 male to 13 females. Then Jack graduated and moved to his perfessorship at Yale and took our monkeys with him in a Chevy Van that I built a smaller cage in.

I learned more about human behavior though those monkeys than I did through my psychology, sociology, and anthropology classes or even boxing forums!
