I agree that Marciano would have been a tougher fight for Ali's style than Dempsey or Louis, neither guy was as durable as Marciano. Marciano's pressure was something else in his prime, plus he could change speeds on his punches and throw off your timing.

Great post. What people fail to realize, is Marciano hit waaaay harder then anybody, and could take waaay more then anybody. He was undefeated in the 50s for a reason, and look at his size and when he got into boxing. People like him come once a lifetime. If Ali thought he could outbox him for 15 rounds is one thing, he's a lot faster and bigger. But if Marciano closed that gap, he left your brain on the canvas. His whole town betted on him, talk about pressure. He was amazing. It makes me sick when he's not in the top 2 of HWs.

Absolutely. Anytime anyone in boxing has a historical moment, makes a crowning achievement, breaks a record, etc etc, there will be a Floyd stan in tow waiting to dismiss the moment as overrated.

This is the kind of bull**** that makes him overrated! Louis isn't even number one anyway. Say what you want about his heart blah blah blah, do you really see him with enough heart or skill to see him through the Rumble in The Jungle or Thrilla in Manilla. Ali was not even at his best during them fights.
