Incase you weren't aware, Tysons prime years extended through the Holyfield fights. LOL Well, at least that's what I've been told. Should I believe it? LOL There's no way in hell Marciano would have made it to the later rounds with Tyson.
Tyson was still a monster power and speed wise yes, but he was only a technical masterpiece during his years with Rooney/d' amato. Thats why we started to see less split second ducking and weaving and more devastating bombs.

Although he couldn't hit as hard in 85' than in 89' he was extremely quick, almost to the point of unfair.

In this case yea, even a 97' Tyson would still KO Marciano frighteningly quick, however it would have been even more devastating if the fight were to happen say..around the time he KTFO out of Marvis Frazier.

I was just joking about all that. IMO he was never the same after Rooney was fired. Yeah, I also believe the Tyson of 97 would have finished Marciano early. No doubt.

You're right, a 30 year old Tyson was WAAAAAAAAAAY past his prime. I guess Floyd Mayweather should just retire, he's just making a fool of his old self.

your so ignorant, Tysons style takes a lot of physical wear and tear and requires speed.

how do you think foreman lasted so long and Frazier and Liston died off, yet in their primes they were beasts.

Not counting Tyson's 4 year vacation in "prison," he was only 26 then and I thought his defence was so great he didn't take any punishment in his prime?

Prime is defined by prime and that 30 year old Tyson was 8 years out of "HIS" prime as a fighter. We don't go by what other fighters primes were because this is an individual sport. Reading into the stats is getting you no where in understanding boxing young man. lol

Look at this blown up middleweight Marciano fought. This guy couldn't even keep his hands up and look how many punches it took Marciano to get rid of him. Tyson would have knocked that guy out a lot faster. And to top it all off, it was more of a cumulated effect that hurt this guy more than anything else. Marciano was good but not as good as Tyson. Come on guys.

Obviously your right. Ask anyone in their right mind who would win and they would pick Tyson.

ask someone who knows nothing about boxing, they would also pick Tyson. There is no Mythology here, Tyson is a much, much better fighter than Marciano. He's also bigger and stronger, has way more power, his chins better (he took shots from Ruddock, Bruno, and even went 8 rounds with Lewis being washed up, whome hurt his hand on Tysons face)

You two are just grasping at straws. That was Marciano's second to last fight. What was Tyson's second to last fight? He got knocked out by Danny Williams, in 4 rounds.
Marciano never lost so you try to pick out difficult fights that he had, its funny. "Look, Rocky knocked this guy out but it took too many punches and the guy lasted a few rounds longer than expected. Rocky won but had some trouble!" What fighter doesn't have trouble on occasion? Even on his off nights, Rocky still won.
