Ali dropped the belt instead of fighting his Mandatory in Norton. Norton had already beaten Young as they were rated #1 and #2 respectively. Therefore Norton became the WBC champion. Why should he have had to fight another fight when he had already beaten the top contender besides himself for that title? You make no sense as usual.
