French super welterweight Dylan Charrat (20-1-1) has announced his retirement. Charrat was last seen losing a close, controversial technical decision to Kerman Lejarraga in a fight for the EBU title and a rematch was ordered by the EBU. Lejarraga then relinquished the title and Charrat then had Jama Saidi (21-2) as co-challenger.
However, Charrat reports on social media that he has since long had problems with his eyes and with the risk for permanent injuries getting bigger he's decided to call it quits.
Jama Saidi will now face the highest ranked available challenger.

The French Federation, representing super lightweight Franck Petitjean, has lodged an official protest to the EBU in regards to Petitjean's fight against Enoch Poulsen April 21 in Copenhagen. I hope WBA and IBF female super middleweight champ Elin Cederroos didn't say that she felt it was a big honor to be the first Swede to fight at Madison Square Garden because she isn't.. Future EBU champ Bo Hogberg fought there in 1963 and beat Felix Santiago in a four rounder. It should have been over six but TV intervened already back then and shortened the fight.
Hogberg had during his visit to New York City trained at Gleason's Gym under the watchful eyes of Whitey Bimstein and Freddy Brown but failed to impress come fight time although he won clearly.
Other than that the former soccer star is in with a good chance for an upset win over the favored Franchon Crews-Dazurn.
