The former IBF, WBC and WBO middleweight champion Christina Hammer is returning at the age of 34.
“Lady” Hammer, of Germany, has been inactive since May 2022, when her victory over Russia’s Luiza Davydova represented her fourth in succession, following her only defeat, in 2019 by Claressa Shields.
Guided by Mark Taffet and Ahmet Oener, Hammer returns with a record of 28-1 (13KOs). Her two most recent fights had been promoted by Sauerland Event.
She was present at Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday, when Katie Taylor defeated Amanda Serrano for the third time in the main event of an all-female promotion.
Incidentally, her compatriot Freddy Kiwitt, 27-3 (17KOs), is preparing for two fight dates against opponents still to be announced.
The 34 year old is scheduled to fight over eight rounds in Kolding, Denmark on September 13 on the undercard of Jacob Bank-Tyron Zeuge, and then defend his lightly regarded WBF junior-middleweight title in Flensburg, Germany on November 22.
