Erm...wtf ?
The Fight Night 3 graphics look MUCH better that this....these cant be Fight Night 4 surely ? Unless it was taken from playstation 2 version
We don't know all the details in the contract.
Haye may not have been honest about it, for certain he's only giving his side of the story.
Facts:
-Haye promised the Stamford Bridge venue but could not deliver.
-Wlad saved the fight and delivered a stadium in Germany
-Wlad had planned to fight in March or April, so he could have three fights in 2009, but Haye insisted he could get the Stamford Bridge venue on June 20. So Wlad has lost whatever money he would have made on a fight with say, Arreola in March or April in order to accomodate Haye.
Haha, desperate !
Wasnt Abraham getting outboxed pretty handily by Wayne Elcock untill the KO ?
I'd like to know what Abraham would be like if he hit someone with those big shots of his and they just laughed, to see what he'd do then.
I think Abraham vs Pavlik comes down to chins personally, and Abraham wins there.
Urango is pretty big at 140 anyway so I think a move to 147 wouldnt be too bad. Decent fight, although I think a Collzao rematch is needed at some point.
Anyone who goes life and death with Willie Limond and gets knocked down in nearly every fight is going to have trouble with Barrera even if he is shot (im not so sure). Im still sticking to Barrera by KO.
right, but you don't live in europe or asia, so how do you know its "booming?"
yes, those countries treat their homegrown stars great, but if things were booming, it would seem like everybody would be running over to those places to fight, and not doing so as a last resort.
Good post. As I do live in the UK I can tell you that boxing is CERTAINLY NOT booming over here. I remember when my whole family sat down to watch Chris Eubank vs Nigel Benn 2, and the fight even had its own special on Jonathan Ross !
Boxing isnt a mainstream sport anymore in the UK. Besides Ricky Hatton and maybe Amir Khan, no one knows anything about the sport besides actual boxing fans.
Gone are the days where boxers were the BIGGEST stars in sport.
you should watch some roy jones fights prior to tarver, he got put down once by a perfect punch right on the tip of the chin(completely perfect)
i'll say it again, go watch some jones fights prior to tarver
perferbly griffin I & II, jorge fernando castro(when jones flurries in round 1)
and james toney, hell watch the ruiz fight and watch him get smacked by an overhand right to the jaw
Im a big fan of Roy Jones (how could you not be?) but I'll argue with anyone who says he doesnt have chin issues. He was kept away from big punchers most of his career. Griffin, Castro, Toney and Ruiz. Thats not exactly a who's who of punchers is it ?
To get knocked out like he did by Glen Johnson is inexcusable.
There's obviously going to be disagreements about certain fighters here or there, the future hall of fame section was just as much for candidates aswell as dead certs. For instance there's going to be lots of arguements on Roy Jones etc....
I thought it was a good post :$, and i don't watch UFC or anything else apart from boxing before you think i'm some UFC nuthugger.
I only even started watching UFC this year, as I said in my original post, I find the standard of stand-up fighting too low to make it watchable for the most part. I only brought up the UFC as a model.
Shane Mosley was sensational at LW, his career there is really overlooked.
If he had managed to stay at 135/140 he could have been one of the best ever.
the real reason none of the TOP WELTERS want to fight williams is because he doesnt bring shit to the table in economics terms!!
and that sucks! cos i have mad respect for williams!!! great fighter!! that is making a name by him self... by facing the best!! but that doesnt change the fact.. that for any fu cking reason!! his fanss doesnt stand up with him... and $upport him as he deserve!!!
Good post, Williams brings a lot of risk vs reward. I think Williams if he beats Winky should take the short money vs Pavlik knowing that if he wins that he can demand the BIG paydays from there off in.
