the guy has a great mentality, no excuses, I don't know why that doesn't extend to wanting to fight the best and clear out divisions...................
Pacquiao has destroyed all his recent competition to the point where there are only a few fighters he could face which would make for a genuine 50/50 fight. Those include Marquez at 135, Mayweather at 147 and Martinez at 154. The emphasis is not on Martinez's weight, it is based on the fact that Martinez's skill plus his size will make for a very competetive fight. People want to see him in competetive fights. Greatness is only achieved through winning when the odds are stacked against the fighter or the fights are 50/50. Pacquiao beat the odds against De la Hoya, Hatton and Cotto, you could even argue Clottey was the first fully fledged welter however it's obvious that he can fight bigger fighters and win. The martinez fight isn't about size, it's about skill, Martinez is only considered too big because he has skill to go along with his size. For pacquiao to keep on builiding on his, already high, atg status he has to take the competetive fights. Wins against mayweather (147), Marquez(135) and Martinez (154) would be incredible for his legacy however they are all fights he coudl easily lose! The only division there are no competetive fights are at 140, he's proved he's greater enough to climb through weights but can he go one better and prove he can beat the best fighter, beside him, in those divisions?
It's obvious Pacquiao has always taken on all-comers because there are only a few fighters left for him to fight but for people to keep saying that he takes on all-comers he is going to have to fight them.
It's not about weight it's about competetion
