Martinez is very skillful but thats not the point
in boxing theres something called weight classes.. this dude is just to big
only haters will say pacs ducking him, its stupid.. these two fighting each other shouldnt even be thought of
Martinez has really gotta pick on fighters in his own weight class i.e Pirog
no hes not. and these pactards are idiots. funny how they say floyd should fight sergio but pac shouldnt.
worst fanboys ever
Perhaps it hasn't occurred to you that Mayweather is a natural welterweight, and Manny P is a natural lightweight, besides being not only a couple of inches shorter but much shorter reach as well. Why should he submit himself to a battering just so that you and those like you get instant "gratification" seeing someone smashed up.
Martinez would also probably beat Mayweather, but because of his style of boxing, he would sustain far less damage than Manny P.
It's purely sadistic to keep urging a brave little guy who has to over-eat to make 144, into taking on the middleweight champion of the world, just so that he might sustain life threatening injuries.
You and your pals would have been happier living in ancient Rome, going to the arena to see overmatched fighters torn to pieces or just plain slaughtered.
And...by the way, I don't care a little damn who would win between Mayweather and Pacquiao, or who the best record or whatever. It's the ethics of the thing which influences my opinion.
All im saying is Martinez needs to fights cats his own size
Blame Pac for wanting to fight fighters who are bigger then him, which isn't the first or last time a boxer has done so. Blame Pac for making it an illusion that he fights bigger men at their peak condition.
martinez has a substantial size advantage over pac and that's very obvious. if pac decides to take this fight big props to him and i definitely want to see it.
what's pathetic is some people are trying to disregard martinez's size advantage so that if pac will not take the fight they can say that he ducked martinez. ducking is only for fights that a fighter needs to take but he didn't. pac doesn't need to fight sergio and vice versa. for pac, fighting martinez is a matter of challenging himself to a level he's never been before if he feels he can take the challenge. if not, you can't blame him as he already took bigger challenges than most active fighters today.
Well again JMM hadn't proved himself as a WW.
Martinez is challenging both at JMW, both fighters have won JMW titles.
Is not technicality it is fact. There is no 150 weight-class. 150 doesn't have their own belt. JMW does, and Martinez is willing to go down there and meet up with them.
I don't see you beef?
WTF are you talking about? And, if neither wants to go to 154 that's cool too. If they feel they don't belong there. That is fine, they're not cowards for that. They're legit WWS who should/want to fight at their weight-class.
However, if one or the other fights again above WW, then there is no reason not to fight Martinez at 154.
Like I said if Pac goes through with the plan of fighting the winner of Marg-Cotto rematch then yes it is a duck.
But, until then is not. And, until then it is fine with Martinez wanting to fight them and them saying thanks or no thanks. That will change though if they fight above WW and not fight Martinez.
I think it would be fitting for Pac to fight Martinez at 154 as his very last fight before retirement.
Win or lose it would be a great way to go.
This is the last comment... I aint a fan of any fighter, they do not pay my bills
fk pacman, mayweather, martinez n all them other guys
im just speaking the damn truth n u lot know this
pac can get kod if he wants so im done wastin my time talkin about him when he doesnt even know me lol ..
im just talkin boxing and martinez is too big but fuk it xx im gone
The lb off Cotto was defeating him mentally
The marg one probably did but i havent heard any excuses from his camp about the weight...
154 is too big for pac, thats why he gave up the wbc belt he won at 150lbs which was just to set a new record of 8 titles
im outta here....
if u think martinez should fight pac is just crazy, thats all im saying..
its not about the "0" .. oh wait hasnt pac lost already?
pac can fight whoever he wats at 147, thats his weight which hes comfortable at
berto and all them other cats can get some.. peace :usa::bottle:
youre a coward of a fan and simply dont want to see the fight happen because you dont want to risk Pacquiao losing. real fans want to see their fighters get tested against the best available for them.
When it gets down to it all thats happening is that Pacquiao is moving up one weight class from the one hes been compaigning at the last few years for a huge level fight.
you meant floyd right, who everybody wants to see him fight everyone in TOP RANK. entirely different from pac and sergio, 2 different promotional companies. you fail miserably.
I fixed it for you, my love.
Your probably the same guy dis creditting Floyd fighting Marquez.. then bring up points like that
Pac hasnt won a world title at 154 it was at 150 and he weighed in like 144 or something.. floyd has but only once
Martinez has fought guys his size and should continue doing that and also challenge bigger guys
edit - you know what i mean about pac 154 bizzz... dont get techical

If the catchweights didnt make a difference, why did Roach force them to happen?
when did Pacquiao fans become such cowards. If he were to beat Martinez it would give him a huge jump on the p4p lists. but nope, Pacquiao fans just dont want to risk seeing him lose. Martinez is even willing to meet at a middleground of 154lbs, its not like Pacquiao is jumping straight up to MW.
The lb off Cotto was defeating him mentally

Sergio Martinez says Pac is too small for him. He wants Floyd.
/
Seriously. Sergio says it and no one believes him.
I wonder how many people have actually seen Manny outside of the TV and have stood next to him to see how big/small he really is in real life.
So people are trying to match Martinez with the person in my avy. The same guy that looks like an overgrown toddler that is still shorter than Mosley while standing on a wooden block.
Nice. Manny would probably take that as a compliment.
After he prays for all of us.
Welcome to the club of defending a fighter who every one wants him to fight everyone, and nobody they fight is good enough. How does it feel?
you meant floyd right, who everybody wants to see him fight everyone in HIS OWN WEIGHTCLASS. entirely different from pac and sergio, 2 weight classes apart. you fail miserably.
The win is more respectable than a BIG healthy guy picking on a little guy..
But still pretty cheap
Not if the fighter is drained bro, like the Oscar fight. I don't consider neither Cotto nor Marg drained. However, Oscar was severely. Hence why that fight was so much easier and less damaging than the Cotto or Marg fights.
Losing weight is much harder than gaining weight. It is much easier to beat a drained bigger guy than it is for a bigger healthy guy to beat a smaller fighter.
Pac should have never had those "TWO" catchweight fights..
I agree.
Cotto at 145.. 2lbs off welterweight.. did it make a difference??
I don't think it did either, it should of happened at 147, but I can see why they wanted it at 145. And, I don't have no problem either way with it.
Pac gets credit for that fight. However, Mosley at 147 would have been the ideal fight around this time.
Margarito at 150 for the 154 title .. that sucks.. ( editted )
I really don't even count this. To me Pac is a 7 division title holder not 8. This was just crap.
Ok what else... ?????
Not a catch-weight but Morales was also drained in the 3rd fight. More so than Cotto and Marg were. Like I said even though those 2 were catch-weights I don't think neither were drained.
Martinez fighting Pac at 154 doesnt make sence... Pacs too small thats why Marg fight was at 150 and everybody knows if he did that again that would be BS
I don't consider it a duck at all. And, I'm not saying Pac should fight him. It would be nice. But, I don't think it's a must or a duck or anything. If Pac does fight him it should be at 154 though. That is where Pac would get the credit if he wins. 150 it would be like Oscar or Morales 3rd fight all over again.
Pac is too small for JMW, that is evident. However, there are rumors that Pac might fight the winner of Marg-Cotto II at JMW. And, if he does go through that fight then you damn right he's ducking Martinez and deserves every criticism he gets.
Martinez is 36, im surprised that hes only made a name for himself in the past few years..... what was the line.. "he was ordinary... "??
Because, a few names avoided him a few years ago. And, sometimes people don't have the backing or the right connections. Doesn't mean he was not a good fighters years ago. He was, and that's why he was avoided by some.

I disagree,
I don't consider Hopkins a bitch for wanting to fight Tito, Oscar, Vargas, Mosley at the time they were big names.
I don't consider Hagler a bitch for wanting to fight Leonard, Hearns, and Duran
I don't consider Monzon a bitch for fighting Mantequilla
I don't consider Lamotta bitch for fighting SRR.
I mean you can really go on and on and on.
But, I could see your point and why would you think that if he wanted to fight Floyd or Pac at 160. I could really see why you would think that.
However, he's not wanting to fight either of them at 160. He wants to fight them at a weight-class that they both have won titles in.
So how can he be a bitch for that?
And, I will ask again hasn't Martinez fought guys his size? Actually who has he fought that wasn't his size?

Is harder to lose weight then it is to gain wait.
So it's easier for little guys to fight bigger DRAINED fighters. Then it is for big healthy guys fighting smaller guys.
Now a good big, majority of the time will beat a good little guy. However, that goes out of the window when the big guy is weight drained.
So to say "drained or not" is quite retarded.

Martinez is a b1cth even thinking about fighting 147lbs

I dont know about you lot but I always thought it was tougher for a little guy fighting a bigger guy, drained or not, compared to a big healthy guy fighting a smaller guy...
Martinez is a good fighter but stay away from 147lbers.. theres a reason pac vacated the 154 WBC belt ..

Heres an example of another idiot, and a fallacy.
If thats the case, forget Sergio and let Pacquiao fight the Klits, Bhop, (Froch, Bute, AA = slightly bigger than sergio) because it will give him a greater challenge. GTFO! You cant blame Pac for a shietty division he is in, after him and floyd wiped it out.
A more realistic fight is Khan, Berto, or Bradley
youre right, because Pacquiao is fighting them, aint he?
Id be fine with any of the above mentioned fights, as well as the Martinez fight.
and none of the examples you gave can make it down to 154lbs, but hey, lets give outrageous examples because youd rather see Pacquiao go untested than have a chance to lose!
