My Opinion if Pacquiao vs. Mayweather does indeed Happen.
I hear a lot of you guys say that Pacquiao got outboxed by Morales and Marquez. You guys are forgetting that the Pacquiao that faced both isn't the same Pacquiao today. Pacquiao barely used his footwork in the past. He didn't have as much upper body movement as today. He also didn't have his right hand at that time. He started to use and improved it starting in the Diaz fight. You guys are also forgetting that you need speed to beat Mayweather and we know Pacquiao will be his fastest opponent; don't even say that Judah has the same speed as Pacquiao; look what Cotto did to Judah, neutralized his speed with his timing. Look what Cotto said after his fight with Pacquiao, he couldn't see where the punches were coming from because of the speed and the weird angles. You need to be aggressive to beat Mayweather. I heard people say, oh! Mayweather schooled Marquez, so he's gonna do the same thing to Pacquiao. (I won't even put the 17 pounds heavier BS because I don't think it really mattered in that fight anyway because Mayweather just simply outboxed him, he didn't impose his size on Marquez.) There's no way in hell Mayweather schools Pacquiao the way he did Marquez. Marquez is not even an aggressive fighter to begin with and he's way slower compared to Pacquiao. Marquez is a boxer and when you put 2 boxer inside the ring, one of them is supposed to school the other one. (I even had Barrera winning against Marquez in their fight if not for the referee making the stupid mistake of calling it a slip instead of a knockdown for Barrera.) IMO, a washed up Barrera even outboxed Marquez in their fight and in a lot of people's opinion, NO ONE CAN OUTBOX FLOYD MAYWEATHER!! NO ONE!! There's no way in hell he KO's Pacquiao though. Pacquiao took Cotto's hardest punches and just walked through them like nothing. In Mayweather's fight with Judah, Judah won the first four rounds of the fight, heck he even dropped him, and we know Judah don't even have the stamina to compete after the first half of the fight. Heck even Hatton won some rounds with his stupid game plan against Mayweather.
Mayweather, he is a million times better than Marquez when it comes to defense and counter punching and speed. He wont be dangerous for Pacquiao because he just pot shots and we know Mayweather doesn't hit harder than Cotto. But he is pretty challenging when it comes to winning a fight. He will be the slickest and most accurate opponent Pacquiao has and will ever face.
The Ultimate Offensive fighter vs. The Ultimate Defensive fighter
I don't know who's gonna win but there's only 3 scenarios I can see happening in this fight. 1) Mayweather wins by decision (Close decision). 2) Pacquiao wins by decision (Close Decision). 3) Pacquiao wins by KO/TKO.
If the fight does end on a decision, I favor Mayweather more to win. If the fight ends with a KO/TKO, I favor Pacquiao to win since he throws a lot of punches, fast flurries, and hits like a brick. I just can't see Mayweather knocking Pacquiao out. :fing02:
This is what happens when Pacquiao takes it personal against an opponent
there was no badmouthing in the pac marquez fight. But there was in the 3rd morales fight.
I agree. Easier than Gatti IMO
I wouldnt be surprised if pacquiao demolishes floyd cuz senior said it. Everytime he predicts a shutout, it goes the other way around.
Uhhh all I heard from manny for this fight was that he wanted to fight floyd. And then just recently he will fight him after the may elections. All I'm hearing is from roach's bichass mouth.
No... I don't see just one side... I'm with you... DLH was past it BUT that's not Manny's fault and again I'm not faulting him for that at all... everybody wanted DLH and it wasn't because he was the best... so I don't blame him at all... and even if somebody is past their prime you still need someone to beat it out of him... I give Pacquiao probs for that... and if I wouldn't respect him I wouldn't have said he is an all-time great IMO... and it sure isn't ONLY because he beat Cotto... I give him credit where credit is needed
BUT
you said and that was the thing that I tried to explain to you... he always fights the best... and that's simply not true... he always probably fought a bigger man but they weren't the best. This is simply what drives me crazy about it... that ppl always come up with he's fighting the best... he ain't... same goes out to Floyd...
He wanted to fight Hatton for a long time. Hatton ain't wanted no part dude... Hatton also fought at 147... it's clearly not his weight but he wasn't moving up into something complete new.
Marquez was the best at 135... he pretty much established it in two fights. He moved up two weight classes... it's a thing that Manny did, Mosley did it before... all in one fight... he now compaigns at 140. Of course you can make an argument about 147 is too much for him... but hey... the only thing that I'm mad about this fight is that May ain't made weight... that's unprofessional... and he not even apologized for it...
And again... I'm not bashing Pacquiao's record or anything but he ain't did something way more special then Mayweather did. And Pacquiao once was a Flyweight as he was very, very young... but as soon as he had real boxing training in the US... he pretty much was a real featherweight... even struggled to make weight sometimes... so what he did because of his body size and short arms against giants is really a great achievement... but he definitely ain't fought the best all the time. And that's ok... because nobody does actually... I could talk about others here as well... but like stated you have to be honest...
In the end I get what you mean and that's why I say until now... Floyd has all-time great skill and Pacquiao is an all-time great this is a difference and you should know through that that I see many things the same like you do... and yes, you can actually like May and Pacquiao... it's possible *lol*
the thing is that when pacquiao moved up in weight, he clearly improved. When he fought de la hoya, his punches were like syit and he couldnt even KO him. Then came hatton, who was the best at 140 and one of the top 10 p4p, people forget that. Then cotto at a catchweight who is for me the #2 dude in the welterweight division and also the #7 p4p (which he still is now) before he got his ass whooped by manny. I dont blame pac for fighting at a catchweight for that fight because he was clearly untested at 147. After the cotto fight, pac has proved that he can hang with the big boys. I dont want any catchweights anymore from pacquiao "if" he fights at 147 and below. Mayweather on the other hand, well he clearly ducked margarito, cotto, and mosley (which was so obvious last september). The world was clamoring for the cotto/mayweather fight after he fought de la hoya, but instead, he chose hatton because "cotto didnt have any fan base" thats what he said. Margarito "me and margarito dont fight to be the best" which was in a video somewhere in youtube. Mayweather was great 140-below. He is clearly untested at 147. Heck i would even say that he has a better resume at 154 by beating de la hoya who was #5 at the p4p list when he fought him than his resume with 4 or 5 opponents at welterweight.
But, what if Khan wins? Would he fight Salita instead?
If Khan wins, he'll go fight Ivan Calderon in Puerto Rico. I've heard Calderon is really interested to move up in weight. HEY!! It might break the record ppv set on the island when cotto fought pac! That would be so much money!
my opinion
I'm also thinking steroids but, steroids won't help you take a punch. 2nd round of the marquez fight? I don't think pac was even hurt at that. Look at the replay, he was at the air when he took that punch and he kinda stumbled when he landed on the ground. What'd he do when he landed? He did his Mike tyson move. Last time I saw Pac get stunned was the 10th round of the first morales fight, but shooked it off in like 3 sec and that was years ago. Look at cotto's chin when he was fighting at 140 compared to now. The only reason cotto got stunned in the pacquiao fight was because he didnt see where the punches were coming from. Pac stunned marquez, PBF didn't, not even with the knockdown in the 2nd round. For pacquiao punching so hard, look at the hatton fight. Thats where I was shocked by his power and I think it was because of his footwork and different kind punching technique. His footwork and punching technique were different in that fight compared to what it was in the past. All of his punches from that fight on to the cotto fight had his full force and body weight on it, even when he's not planting his foot. Look at the way pacquiao punched before the hatton fight compared to the way it was in that fight and the cotto fight. If you didn't even see that, check again.
PBF requested a 25 foot ring and got approved for the fight, so i got pbf on edge against pac cuz of the ring size.

ey bitch......
None of those 3 fighters are slick southpaws.....
Pac is the slickest southpaw atm boy. PBF is the slickest boxer atm too. Pavlik is syit but he can do it. After seein that fight, syit i would have pbf, pac, and pavlik tappin his ass. Paul williams just degraded his most feared stature!!!!!
yea i do i watched it.. still doesnt change the fact he got shitted on bad by quitana in their first fight. paul williams doesnt have any defense what so ever.
floyd will syit on pwill's volume punches.
The fkin guy who is up against pacquiao in the congress is the only reason this match is being stalled. If he did not try to fkin battle pac at the congress, this match wouldve had no problems.
Corrections civicvx, he kicked a shot Cotto's ass. Not the Cotto before Margarito. He kicked a dehydrated DeLaHoya's ass. He kicked a limited David Diaz's ass. He kicked a confidence low Hatton's ass. But did he kick a prime Marquez's ass? HELL NO!
Did marquez beat a shot barrera convincingly? Did floyd beat diego corrales who was dehydrated and needed money? did he beat a prime de la hoya? did he beat arturro gatti who what i remember got ktfo by de la hoya? Did he beat a confident zab judah who i remember just got beat by baldomir on his last fight? I dont care what you guys say that cotto was shot because fighters gets beat and comes back. Clottey is a hard fight for anyone. I believe that if it was the cotto before the margarito fight, he wouldve been knocked out earlier because from what i saw from that cotto before the margarito, he got tagged by alot of counters when he moves in and we know how pac stunned him badly in round 4.
well lets just see how the negotiations go before you start talking about somebody pricing themself out of the fight, from all the articles coming out it sounds like bob arum doesnt wanna put your hero in there with a natural boxer ask b-hop
From what I hear, negotiations started last week and said it himself that he doesnt want the match but he will make it happen since the world want it. And WOW B-HOP!!! When B-HOP trashes floyd when he ducks mosley, well wer gonna hear sumthin from u to protect your boyfriend from gettin fried.
big names will fight him when he fights his way to get a big name. he can start by i don't know, maybe defending his title for once? his title defense record so far stands at 0-1. when will he change that?
there were 3k people on his fight against winky, and ALL of them were chanting "winky!"
he doesn't have a fanbase, NONE. he better get one if he hopes to fight any top WW
so berto has more fanbase than pwill. you make me laugh.
How in the hell do you think Manny deserves a bigger share when Mayweather did more buys than him with all three common opponents. I'm sick and tired of Manny's excuses for not wanting to fight Floyd.
The punk ass midget is scared of Mayweather and wants no part of him. Floyd should just fight the Mosley Berto winner and don't worry about Manny.
Freddie Roach and Manny are both scared of a Mayweather fight.
cuz his fame is gettin bigger with every fight? pacquiao is a bigger star more famous than mayweather and that is a fact.
I think Mayweather Snr more about planning a boxing strategy than you
He planned hatton to run into the right hand. And then the next round, hatton ran into the left. Stupid syit from senior saying that floyd has to worry only bout pacquiao's left. That was the same syit that joe santiago said to cotto. "He only has the left hand!!! Use your jab more" then he got knocked down a minute later.
the WBC champion that will unify the WW class with mosley
of course you don't give a damn if winky was old and shot. it would end this whole argument in my favor
wbc? the one who made the diamond belt? fuk that. pwill has been calling out mosley since long ago. Ask everyone who they wanna fukin see mosley fight between berto or pwill.
They compliment eachother better than any two fighters in the sport TBH
Completely different styles, personalities, mouthy trainers, Top two P4P, both ATGS, Best offence vs best defence
Really a great fight
to add even more to that statement, both are very fast. I havent seen a fight like this. I dunno why they compare this to ali frazier, leonard hearns. What we got here are two best fighters who are fast, good footwork, accurate, good power. This is defense vs offense. There has never been such a fight in boxing history. I just hope the fight happens in may so that alot more people are gonna hear bout the fight and alot more hype.
Paul needs to STFU. He just doesn't get it. He's trying to go straight to the top and fight these guys. Realistically, he hasn't worked himself up and he is not PPV material. Floyd and Pac are not about to fight someone who isn't PPV material.
he isnt a ppv material because every big name ducks him.
because every big name is fighting other big name
he isn't even ranked at 147 anymore, what the hell can he offer any top WW?
if pwill goes back down to 147, wat u gonna say? Is berto a bigger name than pwill? Mosley clearly ducked him. Right now we can chill on pbf and pac fighting him since they are negotiating bout fighting each other.
No I disagree. I honestly feel that if the fight was signed and announced day after Pac-Cotto and schedule to fight a month later it would done 3 mill PPVs. Everybody was so hype after that fight that you don't even need to promote. Is hot right now. Is ready right now. Look how many times ESPN has talked about this fight in the passed 2 weeks. Is ready right now. There is a chance that if you wait longer then the non boxing fan might forget and not care as much. Right now as we speak people are talking about it in the water coolers. Just for pure hype the sooner the better.
more press conference means theres more trash talking live and can be written on paper. I think the press conference where mayweather brought a chicken for the promotion of his fight with de la hoya was either the 2nd or 3rd. That was a big boost to the hype.
Here's what Bernard Hopkins thought of the Pacquiao/Cotto Fight
AK: I want to get your thoughts on Pacquiao-Cotto this weekend, everybody is still buzzing.
BH: I told people that asked me that Pacquiao is gonna bust Cotto up. I knew his face wasn't gonna hold up and it didn't. Cotto has taken a lot of bruise and I knew that his defense wouldn't hold up, he'd have his moments because he's tough, he's a champion, and he's a proud guy. But, I'm not surprised what happened. If Cotto was 175 lbs it just would have taken Pacquiao a little longer to bust him up. See, I knew his face wasn't gonna hold up. I said the fight will take ten years off his career, he struggled with the last guy he fought (Joshua Clottey) and I said that Pacquiao's style and his quickness is gonna make his face look like chopped liver, that's the word I used, chopped liver. I wasn't surprised at all. (All this is at sportinglife website)
Carlisle, you are a serious hater dude...Who in the hell did Manny beat to prove his greatness? Tell me that. Manny Pacquiao fought an old, weight-drained Oscar DeLaHoya. Floyd Mayweather fought DeLaHoya at 154lbs. Manny Pacquiao fought a Ricky Hatton that was already knocked out and plus he fought with his chin in the air. Floyd Mayweather fought an undefeated and Confident Ricky Hatton and knocked him out. Manny Pacquiao fought a Miguel Cotto was knocked out by Antonio Margarito; plus he was slow and unsure of himself which equals=No Confidence. Floyd Mayweather fought an undefeated Diego Corrales who was also a champion.
Manny Pacquiao moved up in weight and fought a very limited David Diaz and it still took him almost 12 rounds to knock him out. Floyd Mayweather moved up in weight and took on the best the division had to offer him; and won a decision over Jose Luis Castillo and gave him an immediate rematch and beat the brakes off of him. Manny Pacquiao knocked down Marquez 3 times in the first round, and still had a draw. Now that is really pathetic. He lost both fights against Marquez and would not fight him a third time.
So it seems to me that Manny is the real fraud. He ask for catchweight fights so his opponents come in drained and you want to say (wow, this guy is ****ing awesome) I would say: wow, this gay guy wants all of the advantages because he or his team doesn't have confidence in his ability. Enough with this BS catchweights; it's taking away from the opponents of Manny and he is not as good as you think he is, otherwise he would have gave Marquez a third fight after 2 tough fights. He would not ask for catchweight fights against and old DeLaHoya or an underconfidence Cotto. Enough with the hero attitude on Manny, he is more like a zero. Heros don't ask for this many advantages.
Did you even look at Pacquiao's resumen and compare it to Mayweather's? Who has Manny beat that's great? Well they sure are a lock at the top 50 atg. Barrera, Morales, Marquez, and De la Hoya (you could say oscar was weight drained). You tell me any of Mayweather's opponents that is a lock at top 50 atg (Marquez was a bloated up lightweight and I got my prediction 100% right for that fight. He was already too hittable at lightweight). Even Coralles wouldn't be at that rank. Don't even tell me that Barrera was washed up when he fought Pacquiao. He was only 29 and after that, he beat Morales. Morales was only washed up at the 3rd Pac fight.
It doesn't matter. The question was whether Pacquiao would ever fight Paul Williams. I said Pacquiao would never get in the ring with Williams. That has nothing to do with who Mayweather has fought.
well he would never get into the ring with williams. He already said it in an interview. As tp Floyd fighting williams, he would rather be dead than fight him.
I've heard floyd asked for a 25 feet ring and got approved. read this guys http://www.bettingpro.com/category/Boxing/Freddie-Roach-wants-Amir-Khan-on-Pacquiao-v-Mayweather-bill-200912070039/
i bet you have never had a fight in your life, you cry to yo momma when you get a nose-bleed or a splinter, ouch mommy it hurts:fing26:
Did I hurt your feelings when I just said the truth about your boyfriend?
Im meant that he didn't beat barrera the way people expected him to. Don't tell me that he was showing barrera some mercy either. Pac has a better resume than pbf! PERIOD
Lmao
the moment i saw this thread, I was like LMAO!!! Did this no brainer even believe he punches harder than cotto? At this moment, I believe pacquiao punches harder than this sh*thead after he demolished Cotto last saturday. Valero's a day dreamer.
Keep talking, Pactards. It will make it all the more sweeter when your man loses on March 13.
Jim Lampley: First comeback of a floyd nuthugger. What will be pactard's reaction!!?
Max Kellerman: OMG! I look at that!
