Well, he is. The kid's not very humble. I mean he said, "I feel like I was not even in a fight". He speaks sometime so freely that he doesn't realize how he sounds. Favorite subject? Himself.
It's unfortunate b/c I know he's really offended and hurt by it. He LOVES twitter. I really supported him and was skeptical about him b4 the Malignaggi fight and was (still am) very impressed afterward...Then he opens his mouth. He'd get more fans if he just toned it down a bit.
Freddie lost a fan for the same reason. If Pacman hangs with that bunch, he's prob a closet narcissist too. Ariza sure is. Most, outspoken, conditioning coach, ever.
Does anyone but me find it funny that Khan would compare himself to a Tszyu, Mayweather or Cotto at this stage in his career? He thinks that his heart is bigger than Zab's? He sounds like a puppet. You can tell when he's giving his own opinion/view or when it's Freddie or someone else's.
He hasn't had 30 fights yet with no big wins. His win over Maidana showed heart (and survival) but was a less than dominating performance. Yet, he mentions that fight as if it were his best performance ever. HE ALMOST DIED IN THE RING THAT NIGHT!!! lol
He talks about his power but, besides the body shot he mostly overwhelmed Maidana with his speed but never hurt him.
I'm sick of these **** Olympic fighters being shoved down our throats.
Especially one that was gifted a first heat win. As far as I'm concerned, hes a loser and not worthy of that gold medal. 4 year boxer? Not even a prospect, really. More like fortunate hobbyist.
If they studied Floyd (even his last two fights) he ALWAYS goes for hitting off the break. Nothing new! He did it to Marquez and Mosley. He did it to Ortiz slightly earlier in the fight. It was a fight and Ortiz's team made such a stink about Floyd's elbows and I saw him reel them in on more than on occassion when Vic pressed.
I knew Victor would use his head but not like that. What a disgrace...Then u want the guy (a future hall of famer) to go on and box with a hole in his lip? Victor was defeated when he headbutted Floyd. All of those blows were missing. Floyd was laughing and he got frustrated. Hey, live by the sword, die by the sword. Not the best ending but, a justified one IMO.
Dunno...Weeks gave Russell Mora a run for his money. I think Steve Smoger would've done a bit more. Weeks was like off the clock. Health was definitely at risk with the degree that Maidana took it dirty.
they are giving Glen Tapia his 5th fight of the year in Dec
He thought he would get pac-man, now he's calling for Marquez fighting a guy coming off a KO loss?
He can fight nobodies all year long but if he's holding out for a big fight, idk.
Well, he beat Oosthusin (should be stripped by now) so should already be champ.
Ward has most of the other belts. He at least he should be getting paid. Not sure who he'll fight unless Ward moves up since they're Hunter fighters.
This guy is good and intelligent, which u like to see. Last time I saw him his combinations were impressive. If he can take a punch he'll be all good. Olympics were another story tho.
I was just thinking how good a fight between Mayweather and Molina would be. Style wise, could be a real fan friendly fight and if Molina wins Sat, would be a unification. ???
Would love to see it and def a bigger test than Terrazas. I don't think he moved his head once. Zero head movement. He'd go straight back or duck and rise in the same spot. Leo couldn't miss that guy.
Couldn't believe it when I heard that either but, he's got guts and did a damn good job at the Olympics with great skill.
If he wins tonight (impressive or an eek-out), he deserves all the credit in the world.
Vargas vs TC is a better fight than Pacquiao.
Bud should just go for it at 140. He's already proven at that weight, if he can get past Beltran.
Arum can hook that up. Don't know if Roy would like that tho...
a side note: when im commenting on te fight in the master discussion thread people need to learn to detect a little humor and INTENTIONAL fan-ship (in that, I KNOW IM being a little biased). . . if everybody just remained 100% neutral ON A DAMN BOXING WEBSITE (although NSB is dear to my heart!) when watching a fight, how boring would that be? if im a huge fan of a guy, im going to cheer for him. . . some of you grumpy, pink gingers need to calm down. . . but PLEASE don't be "that guy" who says "i know more about boxing than you". . .
Well done. Don't know about the scoring (not a judge but know a lot about boxing) but regarding the point deductions; Khan really only lost 1 pt imo. One point deduct was really a point back to Lamont for the piss poor knockdown call for which I support refs that don't let gross mistakes on their part go undone.
I support at least 1 pt deduction for Khan during the fight as I was appalled by the amount of head holding and leaning he employed. That said, it was a great fight. Lamont was my guy in the fight and I want to see them do it again.
Don't think the rematch should be immediate. I think like Khan's knockout loss, he will learn something from this. Hopefully he'll tone down a bit on the self-love so that I can be a fan again! Great skills in the ring but still needs a lot of work inside and outside of it to carry the sport like I think he possibly can one day (while also being well liked for his personality too).
That Margarito body shot in the sixth round (I believe was the shot). If Brandon sticks to the body and pac loses his lateral movement, the fight becomes pretty even in my opinion.
