pac vs vic is good for the fans who want to see real ring actions....pbf fights are boring...for pac having no chance vs pbf, i suggest you say that to the pbf camp....i will not be surprised if they ask you HOW COME?
Real ring actions? lol PBF fights are boring because he knows how to hit and not get hit, and although they're boring to the standard action fan, to most boxing fans even if they don't prefer it they can appreciate that he's good at BOXING.
I would say most people the fight was promoted as RING KINGS even though Cotto was as legit of a champion as Chavez Jr
I wouldn't have bought that fight just because of Cotto's belt, any fan new going in it'd be an interesting bout due to the styles.
i've been to almost all of his local fights. he started off his career as a brawler, but has slowly turned into more of a boxer / puncher. he's not a terrific boxer. he's got decent power and a decent jab. he's got long arms and a strong upper body, so it is in his best interest generally to box on the outside.
ronnie shields has been training him for his last few fights, and slowly he's begun to turn away from what once once a very exciting style. he used to go all out and bomb guys out of there with body punches. shields knows what he's doing, though. rodriguez' only chance for success is to move away from the brawling style. he's not going to simply blows the doors off of the guys in the top 10.
i dont know anything about his next opponent, but his record looks to be that of a puncher. perhaps i've seen him off of the bigger networks and he's slipped my memory, but i do think he's unfamiliar to me.
I don't know much about Rodriguez, but I've trained with and seen Jason Escalera as he is out of the gym I used to train in before I turned to College football. Kid is a beast, has fought locally in NJ and on ESPN recently, however fought to a draw in a fight I believe he should have started out faster in. He has power in both hands, is humble, and works HARD. The sparring sessions that occur in that gym are not for the weary, and it's definitely the hardest sparring I've seen. Escalera is not a stiff, and I'm not just saying it because I know and am friends with the kid.

If you look at this video of him winning the golden gloves see how he won the golden gloves with only 7 amateur fights!! Not only did a nobody with 7 amateur fights defeat a two time national champ and veteran of over 100 fights. He ended his boxing career in the process.
He is no joke, this fight could turn out to be an action packed fight if Rodriguez lets his hands go. But don't expect Escalera to go in there headfirst, when the kid first started boxing he was all defense only now he could bang.
If this fight happens, I got martinez winning a KO in 8 or Mayweather SD. Pac doesn't stand a shot, so if it ain't martinez mayweather will retire Undefeated
Well said!! It's amazing how blind these guys are, but they'll see come and May 5, and after watch the excuses pour in. #1 excuse, Cotto has been through wars and is not the same fighter...SMH
Lol trust me, Cotto fans don't have excuses. We're supposed to lose. The excuses that will pour out are the ones from the Mayweather fans who "have this in the bag". Good luck, and hope for your sake that mayweather beats cotto. :fingersx:
I didn't see the fight but the vitriol being spewed about it is overwhelming.
Was it a worse robbery than Williams v Lara?
I believe it was a pretty big robbery. People are complaining that Abril fought awkwardly, but those same people can't possibly be fans of Boxing. It wasn't the most action packed fight, but Rios got outboxed and Abril showed to have excellent defense ( he wasn't holding all that much, spent more time in a shell right in front of Rios and Rios couldn't land ANYTHING). I had maybe 2-3 rounds for Rios
No, we are indians and see the fight in a magic box.
What is PPV?
I'm sorry man but what kind of question is that?
Everything that exist in the US is in PR. All of it. Well not the beaches
LOL post of the year
Unlike most of the last "champions" stay away from risk, Cotto has face fire time after time. This new title fight its just Wednesday in Cotto's life.
Agreed!! Cotto will come out on top as usual.
